Chapter 8- leaving and staying

Maria's P.O.V.

"I love you," Allen whispers as I move my hand to his. I take his hand and move his off my face.

I continue to cry, "Allen, please don't cry." I just keep crying I don't know what to say or do. This is surprising to me. After everything he tells me he still loves me.

"Maria, stop crying," Allen whispers.

I don't know what to say I just sit there crying. That's when he leans in. Allen can't kiss me. There's a right time and place for that. This isn't the right time and defiantly not the right place.

I back away, "I'm sorry Allen, but I think you need to leave," I say trying hard not to sob.

"But Maria," Allen sobs.

"Please," I plead.

Allen gets up and off the bed and walks to the door. Before he leaves he turns around and gives me one last look. I look away. He leaves.

As soon as he's gone I let the tears fall. The sobs come. I can't believe the shit I have to go through. I hear a knock on the door.

"Come in," I sniffle.

"Hey sis, are you okay?" Anthony asks.

"No," I cry.

He comes and sits down and puts his arm around me. I lean into his chest and cry.

"Maria please stop crying everything is gonna be okay," Anthony whispers.

"No it won't," I sob, "He's always changing his mind about his feelings for me. He hurt me. I cut because of him. I almost killed myself because of him and now he's saying he loves me? It's just a load of bullshit."

"Maria calm down, he really does love you," Anthony says.

Allen can't love me he has Alex. I don't deserve anybody. I'm just a big giant mess that makes everything worse.

"Maria just think about it, okay?" Anthony says.

"Okay," I whisper as he leaves the hospital room.
