*Chapter Eight - Escape*
(Riley's POV)
Waking up to an annoying ringing sound is not something I look forward to. But we can't always get what we want.
Rolling on my side I reach for my phone on my nightstand. Missing it, I end up knocking it on the floor. And with a groan I push myself up and lean over the edge of my bed to just barely grab my phone.
"What?" I groan out, pushing myself up back onto my bed.
"Wow, who pissed in your cereal?" Kimmy answers, "Anyway, Alexander-- you know the really hot guy who you train for-- is sitting in your office right now. He showed up and Nova basically threw him in you office."
"No I didn't!" Nova's faint voice is heard in the background.
"Shut up! I'm telling the story!" She yells at Nova.
"Guys-"
"If you hadn't put-"
"Kim-"
"I wouldn't have to-"
"Kimmy!" I scream into the phone finally losing it, "Shut the fuck up and tell me why Alex is in my office!"
It was silent over the phone for a couple of minutes before she says, "You called him... Alex."
"Answer my question Kimmy!" I yell out into the phone, pausing for a few seconds before I add a faint "Please."
Clearing her throat she answers, "Well, after I found out that you didn't sleep I called Dom to go to Alexander's office to let him know that you won't be training in the morning. And apparently he decided to come to the gym to see you- I don't know if that is true, I'm just kinda hoping he did- and then Nova put him in your office. Now we are here."
Sighing I ask, "why didn't one of you guys tell him I wasn't coming in today?"
"Well, you always are here. Whether it's for work or at night when you come here and think no one knows," Kimmy spoke with hesitation in her voice.
Seeing King run into my room with his leash in his mouth and his tongue sticking out, I quickly tell her to make sure Alexander leaves then I hang up the phone.
King jumps up onto the bed, squishing my foot as he sits down on it.
I let out a groan as I try to wiggle him off of my foot, "I take it that you want to go on a walk, huh?"
Confirming what I said, King gives me two excited woofs back.
Chuckling at his excitedness I push him off of me. "Alright buddy, we will walk down to the gym."
Pushing myself off of the bed I make my way to the kitchen with King trailing behind me. Opening the cabinet by the fridge I take out King's food and put it in his bowl and then grab his water bowl to the sink and fill it up.
After King and I finish eating we make our way to the front door. Grabbing his dark blue collar, I hook his leash on and push the door open.
"Okay King, Lets go." And with that we make our way out the door.
We had a thirty minute walk ahead of us and during this time I love to clear my mind and think. And with all that has happened so far I really needed this walk.
As I get lost in my thoughts I don't realize who is running straight towards me.
"Cole? Cole Baxter, is that you?" I question the man who is jogging in place with the goofiest smile on his face.
