Lily's POV
That morning was quieter then usual. when I woke up, I found myself sleeping right where I had set myself last night, next to the table in my room.
I quickly got ready as i remembered that today was my first day of school i rushed getting ready, slipping on some booty shorts with my sky blue tank top. I took a quick look in the mirror at my plain brown hair and eyes, before snapping out of it, I changed out of the booty shorts and put on some jeans, I slipped a dark gray sweatshirt onto my tank top covering most of my bruises. I tightened the rubber band onto my brown hair and tiptoed my way out into the living room, as I picked up my pink and black striped backpack next to the living room table that held my aunts empty drinking bottles, I hoped my aunt wouldn't see me.
The front door creaked as I opened it, I backed away into the driveway as I bumped in to something hard behind me, when I turned around i noticed that it was a guy, he looked to be about 6'2 and his six pack showed through the tight shirt he was wearing that met with his black jeans. I slowly raised my eyes to meet his deep brown eyes,I started to notice how good looking he was until I saw the confused look on his face as I pursed my lips.
"I thought Mrs. Jennings lived alone?" He said with a smirk rising up his face
I stood frozen for a while until I moved my head to face down, I-I didn't know what to say, actually I wasn't supposed to say anything, the last time I tried talking to anyone my aunt beat me for two hrs and threw me out for the night. So I just stood there as he waited for me to say something, but I guess he realized that I wasn't planning on saying anything.
"So who do we have here" he said clarifying his question as if I didn't know what he was talking about to begin with.
I stepped aside so that I had space to walk down the driveway and started down it, hoping he wouldn't follow, I turned to see if he was and I saw him set something in front of the door which looked like a letter so I tried to walk faster and out of sight so he wouldn't try to talk to me again.
From the corner of my eye I could see him look at me until I disappeared at the curve, *sigh*.

I walked into third period and sat down next to a blonde girl who waved at me when I got to the front of the room, I managed to not be noticed first and second period and was planning to do that the rest of the way but she just wouldn't seem to budge.
"Hi, my name is Amanda" she said in a soft voice that made me comfortable and want to talk to her
"I remember you from last year, you're Brandon's best friend lily, right?"
I tried not to look back and respond but it was hard not to I mean she was talking about Brandon and she knew him, he was practically my last chance of getting saved from my aunt but it was impossible to get in touch with him.
"y-yeah do y-y-you know where h-he is?" I stuttered, it was the first time I talked to anyone in a month other than begging my aunt.
By her face I could tell that she was surprised, i knew I shouldn't have talked to her, she probably thinks I'm a freak like everybody else. but her next words surprised me instead
"I don't know where he is but I can keep you company until he gets back" she said with a big smile on her face
*rinnnnnng*
The bell rung and my attention went from her to the teacher, he called out the names as I followed looking at everyone as they responded. "Brent Wells" he called out and my eyes turned to face the same brown eyed guy i bumped into this morning as he responded to the teacher without looking at him but looking right back at me as if he could see right through me, I immediately turned my head down to face the desk as my cheeks flared up.
