Zayn

I’ve known it from the moment I watched her sing in the recording studio. I’ve known it, and I haven’t done anything about it. She’s gone. I’m in love with Piper and I let her slip through my fingers. When Niall announced that he and Piper were dating, I was too overwhelmed. I couldn’t stay, so I bolted during Harry and Lou’s little spat about which couple was cuter. I ran straight out of the hospital and as far as my legs could take me, not even bothering that it was nine in the morning and people were still going to work. I didn’t care that I wasn’t wearing a disguise or didn’t have security. I just ran. Straight into a bar. I marched up to the bar and sat down with a thud, which ended up calling the bartender over.

“Isn’t it a little early for a drink there, mate?” He eyed me suspiciously.

“I don’t care. Just give me a beer.” He nodded and came back minutes later with a bottle. I downed the beer in no time. But it still did nothing.

“More,” I requested. Four or six more later, the alcohol started kicking in, and that’s when the powerful stuff came out.

Piper

Okay, so, Zayn ran out. Just ran straight out of the hospital. And what did us geniuses do? We stood there and watched him. Why in the world did he run out? I mean, he and Harry made up, so everything’s all good, right? I can’t help but feel guilty though. I mean, I made him believe that it was his fault that Harry got hurt, when really they were just messing around and it was a freak accident. But when I had gotten back on the boat and saw Harry’s head wound, my mother being shot just played on repeat in my mind. My later actions were out of anger towards her dealer, not towards Zayn. Okay, I might have been a little mad at Zayn. But not slap-him-in-the-face-and-make-him-cry mad.

We all looked at each other, waiting for someone to come up with a bright idea. Wait, why don’t we just go look for him? That sounds like a good idea! Now, what would I do if I was in his position? Get completely smashed. I left the hotel room with a triumphant look on my face and flagged down a nurse.

“Hi, uhm, where is the closest bar to the hospital?” I asked.

“The McLaren’s on Johnsons Avenue,” she said sweetly, walking off before I could thank her. Well, now I knew where to start.

“PIPER!” My little Irishman called. I turned to see him and the rest of the boys running up to me.

“Don’t take off like that!” Liam reprimanded me.

“Sorry, but someone has to go look for Zayn!” I defended myself.

“Let’s just let him be for now, alright? He’ll be back in his flat soon if he isn’t already.” Louis put a hand on my arm. I sighed and agreed with him before taking Niall’s hand and intertwining our fingers.

“You think he’ll be alright?” I asked.

            “He’ll be fine!” Harry assured.

“I just feel really guilty.” Niall squeezed my hand while we waited for Haz to be set free.

“Don’t. This isn’t your fault.” Yes it is. “Zayn’ll turn up soon. Don’t worry.” Oh lord, Niall’s smile will kill me with its adorableness.

The ride home was silent, and I couldn’t help but worry about Zayn. I just can't lose anyone else. And if something happened to him, I would never forgive myself. Niall and I waited in his flat for ten hours, just doing random crap. He tried to give me a technology lesson, but it didn’t end well.
