|ANNA'S POV|
"I think we need to get out of here and call the cops, we are obviously in way over our heads." I whisper to Liz in a shaky voice, still under the table.
I made sure both men were gone before I said a word.
"No."
"No?, what do you mean...no?" I retort.
"I mean you can't just call the cops, what if this whole thing in just...I don't know, like, a misunderstanding."
What is up with people and misunderstandings? Is it their way of dealing with the situation and just blowing it off?
"Really? I would fucking love for you to explain that to me, because you're right, I got in a car with you, drove for hours not knowing where the hell you were taking me and now we are hiding under a table from men we don't even know terrified to death. And I don't know how you can take every single thing that has happened and categorize it as a misunderstanding, but please do try I'd love to hear." I can feel the pent-up anger raging.
Liz looks at me with resentment, and crawls out from under the table leaving me there, but not for long.
I move the long table cloth and crawl out too. "Liz wait-" I stop talking as soon as the lights go out.
Pitch black.
Not only was it dark but it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I. didn't. move. a. muscle.
"Are you still there Liz....LIZ?" I whisper loudly at the end.
It took a couple seconds for her to answer, and definitely not the answer I wanted to hear, "I'm here, but you're not gonna be...much longer." I gulp and almost choke, I couldn't breath. Still standing in the same place I reply, "You're scaring me Liz...why'd you say that? If this is you trying to get even, then Its working, ha ha you got me. Now stop!"
Just as I finish the lights cut back on and my eyes adjust to the lighting. I walk over to Liz who wasn't to far away from where I was standing. "I'm leaving, this is bullshit!" I spin around and immediately turn back around. A GUY IS STANDING IN THE DOORWAY RIGHT BEHIND LIZ!
This was no time to freeze but, in this moment I couldn't move.
"L-Liz we need to run." My voice sounding strained and airy. When I realize she didn't understand I slowly back up and head the way we came in, keeping my eye on the guy...but so was he.
I get the nerve to finally sprint towards the door behind me, but stop when another man blocks this door also. I'm so screwed. What did I get myself into? why did I even come in this stupid building! I think to myself.
I turn back to Liz and she has this devious smirk on her face that I will never forget. "LIZ, WHY ARE YOU STANDING THERE!" I scream.
The next I know a strong force grabs me and puts something over my mouth and nose and the room starts to spin. I tried to remove what felt like a rag away but I just got squeezed harder and harder. I lost all feeling and it didn't take long for me to pass out.
-
I wake up sore, and lift my face up from the concrete. I'm in a different room by myself. The lights were dim but I could still make out all the things around me. Wasn't much, just a couple boxes and old furniture.
