Chapter 10

“Explain what? Jayde I thought you wanted to be with me.” Liliana says with so much pain in her tone. So they had a thing going on. Aww.   

“Lili please listen to me.” Jayde says before covering herself up. Liliana goes to the bathroom and I follow her.  She cries and I rub her back.

“How long have you two been secretly seeing each other?” I ask her and she looks up.

“Why do you even care? Huh? You only care for Frankie. I was with Adriana when she called you earlier.  How could you say those words to her? You really told her it wasn’t your fault that he used her for sex. What happened to you Tiana?” She ask.  

“Liliana I didn’t mean to tell her that. She was mad at me for not telling her that I liked Frankie. I regretted what I said to her. Please forgive me.” I say.  

“Fine I forgive you. Well since I forgive you you owe me some ice cream. And you need to apologize to Adri because that girl is pissed.” She says before flipping her hair.

“Okay I promise. So tell me how long you and Jayde had this thing?” I ask her before sitting on the bathtub side.  

“When you guys went to the club and Jayde cried to me. I kissed her to make her feel better. We were both going through things. And both of  us realized that we needed each other. It became heated.” She says fixing her sleeves.

“You two are so cute together. So are you bi or lesbian?” I ask. She looks down.

“I’m bisexual. My parents won’t approve of me dating another girl. I started realizing that I had feelings for girls in the 9th grade. Good thing I’ve never told Vanessa. She would’ve told everyone.   But now that I know she has things for girls she knows how hard it can be to come out.” She gets up and looks herself in the mirror.

“Lili please open the door.” Jayde says on the other side of the door.  

“Ti can you open the door?” She ask and I open the door. Jayde with sadness in her eyes fully clothed walks in.

“Lili Imma go.” I say.

“Do you need me to drop you off?” She asks. I turn to her and smile.

“No you two need to work this out.I’ll be fine. Bye.” I wave at both of them and walk out. Where can I stay? Arielle’s dorm is right down the hallway. Room 189. I walk to her dorm. I knock on the door.  The door opens, Arielle stands there rubbing her eyes.

“Hey Tiana. Are you okay?’ She asks before yawning.  

“Hey Arielle. Yea I’m fine. Can I um stay the night?” I ask her.  She nods and opens the door wider. I walk in and look around. I sit down on her fuzzy chair.  

“Are you and Frankie really a thing? I know you said you were forced in this relationship. But that kiss looked like it had meaning.” She says before sitting on her bed.

“It did but now it doesn’t mean anything. “ I say before getting comfy.  

“Oh. Um goodnight Tiana.” She says. She cuts off the light.  

“Goodnight Arielle.” I feel myself falling asleep.

A boy grabs my hands and pulls me close. It's Zach. He spins me around and kisses me.

“Zach? What's going on?” I ask him looking around confused.

“Tiana I have feelings for you. I know my brother hurt your feelings. You need to find a way to leave him.” He grabs my hand.

“But what about your father? He would take Faith off life support.” I say.

“Maybe you can travel to Chicago to go visit your sister.” He looks over at the floor.

“I gotta go…” He lets go of my hand and disappears.

“Zach!” I managed to scream out before waking up.

I look over to see Arielle sound asleep. I grab my jacket and walk out of her dorm. I call an Uber to drive me to the Jones’ mansion. I would call a limo but they would've brought Frankie with them and I don't want to see him.

~An hour later~

“Thank you so much Ma’am.” I hop out of her car and walk to the gate. The security guard lets me in and

I walk through.

“Ms. Tiana there you are. You had me worried.” I was greeted by Asher. He opens the door for me and I walk in.

“Mr. Frankie is waiting for you upstairs.” Asher says taking my jacket.  

“Okay.” I say. I walk up the stairs dreading going to talk to Frankie.  I open the door to the bedroom and see him.

“Tiana where have you been?” Frankie asks walking up to me.  

“Why do you care?” I ask walking towards the bathroom but he steps in front of me.  

“Tiana if this is about what happened last night just let it go.” He says.

“Well where I’ve been involves last night. Guess I just have to let it go.” I take off the silver heels.  

“I’m not about to have this argument with you. Tell me where the hell you been!” He walks towards me and grabs me.

“NO. FUCK YOU.” I yell.  He is now pissed. He grabs a bag and turns to me, “You know what, I don’t have the time or day to be playing with you.” He angrily says.  He walks out the room.

I sit down on the bed crying.  I look up to see Mrs. Jones looking at me. She has a black eye. Mr. Jones must have been so mad he gave her a shiner. Fuck him. She walks off sad.

I close the door and scream. I scream into a pillow. Zach walks in and holds me. I let him. I can't breathe.

“I can't breathe Zach.” I start breathing heavily. My nose starts bleeding. Am I having a panic attack.

“Tiana it's okay, Im here.” Zach says. My vision is getting blurry.

“Leave me alone.” I manage to choke out.

“Tiana I can't leave you like this.” He says before wiping my nose. He walks me to the bathroom quickly. More blood drips.

“Here lean over the sink. Let me grab you a tissue.” He walks over to the toilet tissue and grabs some.

“Here you go Tiana.” He wipes my nose. His hand bloody from my blood.

“I'm so sorry.” He rubs my back and says, “It's not your fault Tiana.”

He stays in the bathroom until I get cleaned up.

“Tiana I'm so sorry for what my brother did to you.” Zach says.

“I-It's okay.” I look out the window staring at the lake.

“You like lakes?” He asks.

“Yes.” I rub my arm.

“Let's go there today.” He says before getting up excitedly.

“Um okay I guess.” His happiness makes me smile.
