------Hey guys, this is my new story called 'Show Stoppin'. It's a small chapter as most of this story will probably be due to me having two other main stories, but I will be updating this one more frequently than the others so hopfully that makes up for it. Will post the next chapter on Monday. Also on a side note dedicated to @EpicFailQueen411 for being a great friend and also part of the reason I got the idea for this story in the first place. -----

"I still can't believe your making me do this" Ava said, looking at her phone, checking the time once again.

Her best friend grabbed her shoulders "it'll be fun, consider it something to knock off your bucket list" Ava looked up at her friends smiling face "I don't have a bucket list". She pulled out her phone, hoping to pass the time with the new game everyone was raving about.

"That’s depressing" Sydney stated, causing Ava to roll her eyes at her dramatic ways."No, this heat and line are depressing. Seriously it’s been at least an hour and we've barely moved five feet" Sydney looked down at her nails, her face twisting with guilt. “That’s because we’re kind of early" Ava paused what she was doing, looking around at the already long line. This was early?

“What time do they start auditioning then” she couldn’t help but be annoyed, Sydney knew how well lines and her mixed. Once when they were younger Sydney’s parents let her go on vacation with them to Florida. After two hours of waiting in one line for a ride that ended up breaking down right before they got on she swore never to come back to the dreadful place again.

She watched as Sydney picked up a pebble from the ground they were sitting on “such a pretty little rock. I shall name it Sparky”. Ava’s eyes narrowed “you’re doing that thing again Sid, where you stall until I give up on finding the answer”.

She crossed her arms still waiting “but it’s an awesome rock! We could paint it pink and then get a family of rocks and each one could-“Ava cut her off, trying to hold back a growl “Sydney, what time”.

Finally looking up from the ground Sydney glanced around before meeting Ava’s eyes “how quickly do you think someone could leave if there was-“she paused “an emergency?”

“Why would there be?” said Ava, allowing this one moment of unanswering due to the worried look now filling her friends eyes. “Well, um, I might have one after you find out what time they start letting people in” Ava raised her eyes. “And how is that?” she said, tapping her finger on the phone still in her hands.

“Well because...” she looked to the right at a family who had matching t-shirts supporting the person they knew auditioning before looking back at Ava. Wiping the sweat that was growing on her forehead she said “because you’re going to want to kill me and I need an easy exit plan”.

“Seriously? It can’t be that bad. What is it like an hour?” Ava looked down at the lit screen on her phone before pressing the home button so she could see the time. It was already seven in the morning and they had been waiting for at least a hour and a half. An eight a clock starting time would make sense.

Sydney laughed nervously “try twelve”. Ava waited for the joke to be over, the haha moment when the other person goes ‘you should have seen your face!’ Sydney slowly took a step back, and that’s when it hit her. She wasn’t kidding.

“it was originally supposed to be ten but then one of the judges I guess had to good a time last night and it got bumped up” Sydney blurted. “I didn’t find out till we got here” she said, putting her hands up in surrender.

Ava was busy running over possibilities in her head “and how did you find that out? We’ve been in the same spot all morning”. Sydney glanced down at the phone in Ava’s hands “funny thing, they have an app for that. Guess it happens a lot. Woops” she smiled weakly.

“Ok, well that’s it. I am going home. Call me when you get close to the actual doors so I can come back” she got up, grabbing the bag she brought with her. “NO!” Sydney grabber her arm, pulling her back down. “You can’t leave. If you leave then I’ll chicken out again and- and your promised. You can’t break a promise”.

“I am not breaking anything. I said I’ll come back” she could see the defeat echoing across Sydney’s eyes. “B-but I can’t sit here alone for more than five hours. I need someone to tell me if I sound ok when I practice. Not to mention I don’t think I can physically go more than a hour without talking, I’ll explode. And if I talk to myself people will look at me funny” she said.

Ava sat unmoving, she was already auditioning for her when she knew she could barely sing, what else could Sydney want? “And you probably won’t be allowed back in line once I get close. Please Ava” she said, giving her, her best puppy dog look. Ava sighed “you can’t use that look, I invented that look”.

“Is it working?” Sydney said, clasping her hands together. “Sydney” Ava wined, not quite ready to give up on the idea of leaving. “Ava” Sydney mimicked, smiling because she knew she won. Ava set her bag back down “you so owe me for this”.
