Jo's POV (12)

I sit there on a moldy tree log, shivering. There is a fire keeping me somewhat warm. Jason is pressed up against my side shivering as well.

"Penguin huddle!" Jason says and I laugh. I run my fingers in his brown hair. Pretty soon, a cold and tired Lucas comes up to Jason.

"Do you want to play?" He asks. He points to another little boy. Jason nods and then turns to me, asking for my approval.

"Go ahead, but don't go anywhere where I can't see you!" He nods and runs away with Lucas. I stare into the flicking flames in front of me.

Right now, Cassy is sitting down catching up with her brother on how the last two months have been for her and he's telling her his adventures as well.

LJ is sitting on another moldy log staring into the fire. She catches my eye and smiles. I smile back and we both know that this place is very welcoming. Well maybe not in the beginning , but they got better once we introduced ourselves.

I sit there for about 10 more minutes shivering my butt off. I see movement from the corner of my left eye. I watch as a tall, muscular figure sits down next to LJ.

He says hi and she says hi then I tune out because I have other things in my mind. I scan the camp for Jason. I haven't seen Jason in a while or Lucas for that matter.

I start to have a mini panic attack. Where is he? There could be a zombie attack at any second and if he gets hurt I will never forgive my self.

I stand up slowly getting a better view over people's bodies. I feel a few sets of eyes on me as I abruptly walk away from my log. I walk a bit faster when I don't see Jason. Dang, I can't see a thing out here! What the heck. Do these guys have flash lights? Oh My Gosh I almost tripped on that stupid -

I slam into something. I think I was walking too fast because I knocked the whatever it was to the ground too.

"I'm so sorry!" The something says. The voice is deep and breathless. Hey its a human!

"No no, it was my fault I'm sorry!" I said back,I landed on my butt and I knocked the air out of me. I'm struggling to breath.

"Um, I'm really sorry, gosh I'm such an idiot," I whisper that last part.

"No its just dark out here! It was my fault anyways. I wasn't paying attention." The other voice says. Its too dark to see anything so I just see this tall figure in the dark.

I stay seated on the ground as he is standing up.

"Here." I see something float down to me. A hand. I take it and he hauls me up. He's pretty strong! I have regained my breath and sigh.

"Thanks." I say quickly.

"No problem! Now, why did you come this way?" He asks.

"I'm looking for my little brothers, Jason and Lucas." I say. He nods.

"Jo!" I here someone yell, I whip around and walk forward a bit until I see a little bit of light. Well finally someone has a flipping flashlight!

"Jason! Where is Lucas?"

"He's right over there under that bush." He says. I laugh.

"Hey Jo!" Lucas says casually as he steps out from his hiding place.
