Quick note (y/n) means your name

Mitch's plane finally touched down. He had been fighting off this feeling he had that something bad was going to happen all day just blaming it on his lack of sleep.
He got off the plane as fast as he could. Wanting to see you again, to scoop you up into his arms again, to kiss you again. He was waiting for what seemed like an eternity for his luggage to appear on the carousel. When they did he grabbed them legging it through security and into arrivals knowing you were waiting there for him.
When he made it to arrivals his eyes scanned the room eyeing  every face looking for you.
'Maybe she's just late" thought Mitch when he couldn't see you, the bad feeling starting to niggle at him even more.
It had been half an hour and you still hadn't shown up when Mitch first tried ringing you getting your voice mail. He tried the house phone in case you'd forgotten, it wouldn't be the first time you were supposed to pick Mitch up and forgot, but got the answering machine. 'She's probably just stuck in traffic.'
Mitch sat for another half an hour waiting for you before giving up. He had tried ringing you and had left you numerous texts.
Finally Mitch stood up and, after a quick stretch, headed to the taxi rank sending you a quick text to let you know he was gonna get a taxi.
Mitch zoned out during the taxi ride home almost falling asleep on the back seat.
It wasn't until he got home and your car was gone he got a bit worried. Normally if something came up you would let Mitch know you couldn't pick him up. 'She's probably at work and thought my plane was later on. She's fine' Mitch was trying to convince himself as he walked into the house. Thats when he noticed your work clothes hung on the radiator in the living room where you normally put them to dry.
Now he really was starting to worry. This was the first time you had ever not told him where you were. The bad feeling in Mitch's stomach just getting worse and worse as the seconds went on. Thats when Mitch's mobile starting ringing distracting him from his thoughts.
"Hey (y/n) are you ok? Where are you?" Mitch said as soon as he answered the phone.
"Is this Mitch Evans?" A male voice sounded.
"Who are you? You better not have hurt (y/n). If you have I'm gonna hunt you down," Mitch threatened trying to sound scary but just working himself up more and more.
"Please calm yourself. I have some bad news. There was an accident (y/f/n) car was hit by another and she's currently in critical condition," the voice sounded again.
That's when everything seemed to slow down for Mitch. The voice carried on explaining everything to Mitch while he was in a daze. When they both hung up Mitch made his way to his car. He could feel the tears starting to form as he started the engine.
The drive to the hospital seemed to take forever and as soon as he parked his car the tears started falling down the Kiwi's face. He ran into the hospital going straight for the reception desk.
"Hi I'm looking for (y/n)," Mitch blurted out wanting to see you again.
The receptionist was really nice and it wasn't long before they found what room you were in and told him.
Mitch ran all the way trying to wipe away the tears that fell. Once he got there he was about to go in but he got stopped by a nurse. He pleaded but he wasn't allowed in. Getting told you were in surgery right now. The nurse then lead Mitch to some seats saying that as soon as you're back from surgery she would let Mitch know.
He sat down not quite believing today had happened. He closed his eyes no even trying to stop himself from crying anymore knowing it was no use. He was hoping that any  minute know he would wake up in his hotel room and this would be a dream. Or wake up in his bed with his arms wrapped around you keeping you safe.
It was a good few hours later when the nurse came back. Waking Mitch up by putting a hand on his shoulder. He looked up his eyes bloodshot and his face stained red from the tears.
"Is... is... is... is she Ok?" Mitch mumbled through the tears.
"She's not long come out of surgery so it's too early to say anything. She has some very serious injuries. You can see her but I should warn you that she doesn't look very good right now," the nurse explained.
Mitch stood up walking with the nurse back towards your room. His hand was shaking as he reached for the door handle. He slowly opened the door and started crying again when he saw your lifeless body covered in bruises, bandages and plaster. The room was silent except for Mitch's crying and the beeping from the machine keeping you alive.
He ran to the bed and grabbed your hand as Mitch's tears fell on your arm. He started talking to you not even sure if you could hear him or not but talking to you anyway trying to distract himself. He was telling you about anything and everything he could think of.
He fell asleep sat on the chair next to your bed, holding your hand. He was really hoping when he woke up you'd be in his arms not on a hospital bed.
He got woken up by the door closing. Guessing it was a nurse or doctor checking up on you making sure you were alright.
Mitch stretched, his neck feeling stiff from the way he was sleeping. He looked at you, feeling the tears starting to fall again.
Even looking as beaten as you did Mitch looked at you and saw beauty and to see you like this really killed Mitch. He had always been the kind of guy who wanted to keep you safe to protect you from everything and while you appreciated it, and even found it sweet, you know he couldn't protect you from everything.
Mitch shot up at the sound of the machine. It was by far the worst sound he had ever heard. The machine was making an awful monochrome continuous beep that meant your heart had stopped. He stood up looking at you as a fresh round of tears started falling. He couldn't lose you like this.
The door opened and a group of doctors and nurses came rushing in slowly pushing Mitch away from you and out the room so they could surround your bed.
