JAEHYUN walked into the music class, which was his favourite but his mind was occupied by something else. now that he thought back at his decision of not ending the bet, it irked him a bit. maybe he even regretted it but he didn't want to step out of the bet because that would hurt his self pride. even he knew that it was selfish of him to do so.
"so, class today i'll be assigning you partners for a special assignment." their always cheerful teacher, mr. kang daesung spoke.
"you'll be performing a duet with your partner." he clapped his hands together. "now i'll begin randomly assigning you your partners."
he announced the names of the students and their partner for the assignment which jaehyun paid no attention to. he just waited for his name to be called.
"jungkook with yeri, jaehyun with-" he became alert of his surroundings at the mention of his name. his heart beat a little faster than it normally would, jaehyun usually didn't like group assignments or anything that had to do with interaction with any other human other than his friends.
mr. daesung paused as he looked around looking for the right partner for jaehyun. his eyes scanned the room and finally landed on a brunette
"jaehyun with chaeyoung."
jaehyun internally groaned. it was the most cliché thing to have happened to him the whole day. but he tried to look on the brightest side, atleast he didn't get paired up with one of the weirdos of the class and saying that chaeyoung had a good voice would be and understatement. she probably had one of the most heavenly voices he'd ever heard.
he saw chaeyoung walking towards him greeting him with a warm smile. he couldn't even resist not smiling back. a bandage was stuck on her cheek, right on the place he had cut her. a pang of guilt hit him.
"yikes, that must've hurt. sorry again for it." he pointed at her cheek.
"they said the school wasn't dangerous but look where it's got me now." she let out a long sigh.
"but no worries! it barely even hurts." and she was back to her normal, cheerful and bright self.
"that's good. so do you have any idea about what song we're gonna perform?" he asked hoping that she would have the answer because his brain seemed to stop working everytime she was around.
"hmm." she placed a finger on her cheek and got lost in thought. a few minutes passed but she barely took notice and jaehyun patiently waited trying his best not to stare at her.
"eyes nose lips!" her voice came out in a yell after a brief period of silence causing their classmates to shoot them weird looks.
she bowed and mumbled a few apologies to her classmates before turning back to him. "eyes nose lips by taeyang is good for a duet." she repeated this time more calmly.
jaehyun's eyes lit up at her idea and thanked mr. daesung in his mind for pairing him up with her. "that's a really good idea."
the grin on her face widened at jaehyun's approval. she was more excited than ever to have the opportunity to perform one of her favourite all time songs. "we better get started then."
and jaehyun swore that goddamned smile of hers almost made him forget about the bet.
