"SO, let's start." chaeyoung said. jaehyun and her were at the school's music room to practice for their duet.

"mhm." jaehyun hummed and began singing the first line of his verse. his voice was smooth and sweet like honey. chaeyoung hadn't heard him sing before and she was amazed by his voice. she had heard about how good his voice but she didn't expect it to be this good.

he finished with his lines and chaeyoung began with her lines. now it was his turn to be awestruck. chaeyoung was infamous in their school for her unique voice. his eyes lit up with admiration and his lips turned into a smile. he could listen to her calming voice all day.

this went back and forth singing their respective lines and the song finally ended. both of them were more than satisfied with it. "wow." a voice gasped.

they turned their heads to see yugyeom standing at the door, clapping. "that was amazing!" yugyeom grinned.

"thanks. we were practicing for our duet for the music class." jaehyun said to his friend.

"oh. you're lucky you got a partner like chaeyoung." he sighed. "i'm stuck with bambam. anyways, see you around. i gotta get going now." he bid them goodbye and left.

"we were really good!" chaeyoung exclaimed smiling.

"don't sound so surprised. we're probably gonna top the class." jaehyun beamed and then shrugged his shoulders sassily.

"by the way, did you hear about jennie and taeyong's date?" she asked as jaehyun drank his water.

"what?" he asked almost spitting the water.

"yeah i didn't know about it until i overheard jennie talking to him on the phone. she was blushing and it was very cringey." she remarked.

"to be honest, it doesn't really surprise me that they're going out now. the sexual tension between them was killing me. do you know when their date is?" he inquired.

"um today at 5 in the cafe near the school. why?"

both of them glanced at the clock. it was 37 minutes past 4. they then proceeded to exchanging looks as the same thought ran through their heads.

"wanna go stalk them?" he didn't even need the answer to that question since he already knew it.

the duo found themselves sitting in the very cafe where taeyong and jennie were having their date. they made sure to sit far away from the couple but still close enough to be able to see what they were doing.

it had been a few minutes since taeyong and jennie arrived. they had done nothing much except for making small talk and ordering.

"ugh why aren't they doing anything?" jaehyun whined swirling around his drink with the straw.

"well you don't expect them to start making out like 2 minutes into their first date." chaeyoung said.

"actually that was exactly what i expected." jaehyun pouted. chaeyoung let out a sigh at his childishness but was actually squealing on the inside because of how cute he looked.

jaehyun and chaeyoung ate their food in silence. "oh my god look look!" chaeyoung whisper-yelled as taeyong and jennie held each other's hands. jaehyun turned way too quickly and started choking on his food.

"oh shit are you okay?" chaeyoung asked in a concerned tone as she handed him the water.

he gulped the water but was more worried about taeyong and jennie spotting them. luckily, they were the only ones in the restaurant who hadn't heard jaehyun choking.

"you would've thought they noticed us but they didn't." he said almost surprised.

"they would've if they weren't lost in each other's eyes." chaeyoung smirked glancing at them.

"i need a picture of this." jaehyun said getting out his phone and clicking a picture of the couple. he quickly created a new group chat and added chaeyoung, johnny, ten, yuta, jisoo, lisa, and mark which was basically all of their friends except for taeyong and jennie and then sent the picture captioning it with "look at them, so in love."
