Caged In ( REWRITING )

Chapter Five

"Oh my god!" I moaned out as I stuffed my mouth with Creamy pasta salad. My favourite thing in the whole wide world.

"I know!" Renesmae agreed as we continued to stuff our faces with the delicious pasta. Ignoring the looks on the others faces.

Loading my plate with a lamb cutlet, six chicken wings, mashed potato, salad and a shit Ton of creamy pasta salad I grabbed a roll and smothered it in butter, placing the pasta salad in the roll I then devoured the roll.

"Damn girl." Chance mumbled and looked at Renesmae who took a whole bit of a chicken wing hen only pulled out the bones.

"Damn girls." He corrected himself and I swallowed my mouthful and grinned sheepishly "I'm sorry where are my manners."

"We aren't bothered, you should see us like wolfs."

In fact, we were all like hungry wolves that have fresh kill. Stephen's nickname for me was Pup since I'm 'so cute' and I threw a chicken wing at him which he successfully caught and ate.

After we ate Stephen, Chance and Renesmae ran upstairs to play Fortnite whilst Nick and I cleaned up and washed the dishes.

Once we finished with dishes we both sat on the couch and heaved long songs. Slowly turning to each other and I held out my fist which he bumped his with mine and winked at Me.

"We make a good team." He said and I pulled my hair into a bun. Putting my arms down I heard a snort to see Nick looking at my hair his lips pursed as he wanted to burst out laughing.

"You look like your a crack head."

"Thanks Nick." I muttered sarcastically and pulled my bun out to redo it in a non-crack-head-way.

He looked at my hair and smirked at me and grabbed the TV remote and turned the TV on.

"What?" I asked softly touching my bun to feel there were no hairs poking out.

"Nothing." He murmured his eyes still on the Television. Feeling paranoid I continued to touch my hair finding a few loose strands and tucking them in.

"It's cute."

"Huh?"

"Your hair." He met my eyes "it's cute."

"Oh I know." I twirled a loose strand around my finger and grinned cheekily at him.

Shaking his head he chuckled and we watched TV.

I wasn't even paying attention to the TV but having quick glances at Nick. I seriously couldn't help it, how is someone so hot? I mean this should be illegal.

Biting my lip I looked down at my fingers and began fiddling with them. A lot has happened in the mass of one night and a day. I never knew making friends was this easy.

And the best thing is, I don't have to be fake. They don't see me as one of Sandy's Minions. They see me as Evangelina Emberey. And that makes me really happy.

But on Monday everything was going to go back to normal. Nick wasn't gonna be there nor was my cousin. But Caleb, Andrew and Sandy.

"Sweetness?"

I looked up at the sound of Nick's soft voice to see his eyes were warm and soft with his brows a little frowned.

"You look upset?"

I bit my lip and sighed crossing my arms and crossing one leg over the other "I'm just thinking about School."

"You told me you were part of the 'popular group'"

I shrugged at him "I shouldn't even be there." I started and faced him "I've been wasting, what is suppose to be the best years of my life with people that I can't stand and they can barely stand me."

"As soon as my parents business began to shoot up and we were getting more money people began to notice me... they would always talk to me and ask if they could hang out at mine for the weekend."

Nick nodded slowly giving me an encouraging smile. I bit my lip and smiled and continued "we use to live in this massive house, it was beautiful and a mansion. But honestly I hated it.. it was always empty and I was just so, lonely." I couldn't help but feel a stinging sensation in my eyes as tears began to well "my parents were always gone. And then Caleb my boyfriend asked me out."

Nick's jaw clenched and he gave me a stern nod and looked towards the TV.

"I said yes because I was lonely, he gave me attention and straight away I was bought into that group."

"Then why don't you just leave it?"

I looked up to see his eyes on me as he spread his arm out behind me on the couch making me blush.

"It's not that easy.." I trailed off "they manipulate you. Trust me, I've tried and Sandy said that if I left them she'd leak my nudes."

My vision went blurry and my lip began to wobble. I remember the time I walked out the shower naked, I was fifteen and someone had taken a picture of me nude and Sandy got it.

She blackmailed me. And when I saw those pictures that night I threw up and moved rooms. I know I could shut the curtains but I know I definitely shut those curtains then they were open.

I moved to the back of the house where here was one little window and people couldn't see it. My curtains were closed always.

I should of let my parents know and called the police. But I didn't, I was too scared and didn't want to bring them into my business.

Eventually we moved. My parents said that a smaller house would be easier for me and I would be next to Nonna. And I was happy with that.

Nonna and I grew close and were together majority of the time, whether it was cooking, watching soap operas or helping her at the supermarket.

I lost a few friends after that but Sandy, Andrew and Caleb still wanted me to hang out.

"She what?" Nick rasped Out and I suddenly burst into tears.

Instantly I was pulled into an embrace. Unconsciously wrapping my arms around his waist and he mumbled sweet soothing things into my ear to calm me down.

"I'm so stupid." I sobbed and felt his hand in my hair as he pet my hair "I should of done something but I did nothing because it scared me, I felt like I was being watched when I went out and it was horrifying."

"Hey." He said softly and I lifted my head and looked at his face. I wiped the tears off my face and sniffed "can you do something for me?"

I nodded and sat up straight and he smiled at me "I want you to see someone, and make a new friend. Start a chat with someone and show people who Evangelina actually is."

I grinned "I think I can do that."

"Atta' girl."

I giggled and then after that Nick and I joined the others upstairs and we played Fortnite. Renesmae on Nick's computer and Chance on Stephen's computer and safe to say Renesmae kicked all their asses.
