Caged In ( REWRITING )

Chapter Seven

Snack time.

"You know." Sage started twirling a lock around her finger "what do you see in him?"

Him as in Caleb Hart. I sighed and chewed on my bottom lip as I felt Caleb's glare on me. I looked next to see one of Sandy's minions Kenzie to have her hand around his biceps and giving him a flirty smile.

I watched as she leaned over and whispered something in his ear making him smirk and nod, standing up holding her hand she giggled and they walked off.

"Aye!" Sage yelled out and my eyes widen as I glared at her and whispered harshly "what do you think your doing?!"

She rolled her eyes and Kenzie and Caleb turned to us. Kenzie rolled her eyes and looked me up and down before scoffing and turning to Caleb.

"C'mon Caleb lets go, I just can't wait."

Sage and I cringed at her voice and Caleb crossed his arms raising a grow at me.

"Caleb.." I started saying softly and stood up.

"Can I please talk to you?" I mumbled meeting his dark eyes. His eyes slightly soften then the glare was back and he nodded. I studied his features. Golden brown hair cropped shortly, olive skin and thin lips. Caleb was good looking. And loads of girls swooned at his feet.

I was even taken back when he asked me out.

He turned to Kenzie who was looking at him with her huge brown eyes twirling a platinum blonde lock around her fingers and batting her lashes when really she looked like something was caught in her eye.

I turned around to see Sage raising a brow and crossing her arms. "I won't be long." I said and she gave me a stern look before blowing me a kiss and turning back to her pizza.

"Kenzie go." Caleb said and she looked at him and then me, a frown on her thin brows she scoffed and walked away.

"C'mon." He mumbled putting his hand on my lower back and leading me out of the cafeteria. I swallowed the lump in my throat.

He mess me outside by a tree and we sat down. I was looking straight ahead of me and I felt his eyes on me.

"I can't do this anymore." I began softly "I can't."

He didn't say anything. I peeked to the side to see his body stiffen and his jaw clench. Sighing I pulled my hair out of its ponytail and let it fall over my shoulders. Looking over and meeting his dark eyes "I'm breaking up with you Caleb."

Instantly I watched as his face softened and he stared down at me softly. And it broke my heart, the sad look on his face it broke a tiny bit of me.

I know I said I didn't like Caleb at all, but there was something there for him. Even though he was a douche majority of the time I knew there was a small part in there that he cared for me. His been there for me for some of my worst times and made me feel better, and I've been there for his worst time and cared for him.

"This." I waved my hands between us "isn't working, you haven't been treating me like how a boyfriend should." Caleb looked down and clenched his jaw.

"I care about you Caleb... and I know you care about me. But this is a toxic relationship and I'm doing this for the both of us. And don't think I don't know about the cheating."

I looked at my hands and then met his eyes.

I leaned over and planted a kiss on his cheek then pulled away and smiled at him sadly "bye Caleb."

And I walked away. Feeling his eyes not leave my body and once I turned that corner Sandy was standing there crossing her arms and glaring at me.

"Well if it isn't Evangelina Emberey." She ticked her voice flicking her golden blonde hair over her shoulder her blue eyes piercing into mine "I see you and Caleb are done, did you tell him you were whoring around with that guy on a bike? I never knew you were into bad boys."

I avoided her gaze and looked at my shoes. Suddenly she shoved me causing me to slam into the wall and wince "look at me when I'm speaking to you!" She hissed in my face making me cringe.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know you were that special." I mumbled sarcastically and suddenly felt a stinging pain on my cheek. My eyes widen and mouth flew open when I realised she slapped me.

Feeling the anger begin to bubble in me I clenched my fist shut and began letting deep breaths in and out.

"Who do you think you are?" She pokes her manicured nail at my chest digging it in making me hiss in pain and push her finger away glaring at her "that you suddenly went on a motorbike your top shit? That you can just leave us like-" she clicked her fingers "that."

"I don't want to be involved with you guys anymore." I shrugged and she let out a humourless laugh. I bit my lip and she grabbed her phone and pressed a few things before showing me a photo that made me gasp.

That photo. The one where I was standing naked in my room.

I felt bile rise in my throat as I looked at her horrified to see the smirk on her face. I think I'm going to be sick.

"Remember this?" She snickered waving the phone in my face making my vision go blurry with tears.

"This is going out, for the whole wide world to see." Sandy taunted and giggled like a psycho "I knew this day would come." She hissed "go hang around you little new friend."

Sandy smiled, a sickening fake smile and walked away. And I stood there for what I felt like hours only for Sage to come and find me and pull me in her arms where I burst into tears.

"I want to go home." I sniffed wiping my wet cheeks.

"I'll take you?"

I shook my head and smiled at her "thanks but I wanna walk, get some fresh air."

She nodded and squeezed my hand "I know we only met today, but your pretty shmick."

I laughed and grinned at Sage "same, exchange numbers?"

So we exchanged numbers. She told me she'd text me after school and I got my things and walked home.

Feeling absolutely sick from what Sandy said I felt like I wanted to vomit.

Whilst walking home I couldn't stop thinking about it. Who took this picture? And why? Why would they do this. It's disgusting and I should just call the police.

But I wanted to make her pay, she'll learn her way when karma goes around the corner and beats her down.

As soon as I walked in home I barely made it to the toilet. Running up I dropped to my knees and puked my guts out. Letting out cries as I vomited, I was a loud dramatic puker.

Suddenly someone grabbed my hair and held it back for me rubbing my back soothingly. I grabbed some toilet paper and wiped my mouth.

Letting out a grunt I turned around to see Nick looking at me with soft sad eyes. He saw me and smiled reassuringly and got on his knees wrapping an arm around my shoulder and pulling me to his body.

I closed my eyes and breathed in his musky scent. I relaxed my shoulders and slowly began falling asleep. He carried me to my bed, tucked me under the blankets and waited for me to fall asleep.

I have a crush on him.
