Chapter 12: The Plan

Clary's P.O.V

“ Clary, I'd help you destroy the world," Jase rolled his eyes.

“ Can you kill Johnathan again?" I asked.

“ No," he said immediately.

“ So much for helping me," I threw in his face.

“ Clary I almost died killing him last time. And that was with Izzy's help," Jase argued.

“ You had a death wish. You were sloppy. We both know that," I argued.

“ I'll try Clary, but I can't make any promises," Jase sighed,“ I love you."

I smiled,“ I love you too."

“ Do I get to know anything else?" he asked.

“ Not now, thank you," I kissed him goodbye.

“ Okay," he left.

This was going to be hard. How was I going to kill Valentine. Surprise will be everything. I can't hesitate. He will kill me, I can't let him do that. If only I could create a rune to buy me some time. I really needed.

It was going to happen in 2 days. Such a long time away, but too close. I had to train. I needed practice with Valentine. I summonsed him. He was mad at first. He had said there was work to be taken care of, but I asked if he would just show me a little more about fighting.

“ You need to focus. With every move he or she makes, they give away technique." Valentine feinted a lunge.

I flipped over his head, expecting the feint. He whipped around, reaching towards my arm, that wasn't there anymore. I had flown under him, my small stature coming in handy. I stood up, kicked him in the stomach. Valentine recovered quickly. This time, when he reached for my arm, he succeeded. Valentine twisted my arm, I kicked him then put space between him and myself. I don't want to tell you the rest of the fight, but I did win!

“You've gotten better," Valentine nodded proudly.

“ Thank you," I said stiffly.

“ Loosen up, darling you're safe. We will win, I promise you," Valentine pulled me into a fake affectionate hug.

“ Father, what are we doing?" I asked.

“ You know what we are doing, making the world a better place. Getting ride of Downworlers," Valentine said, triumphantly.

“ Yes I know, but how?" I tentatively asked.

“ Mass murder of course," Valentine smiled evilly.
