Just you and Me

I woke up feeling sore. Sunlight streamed through the window beside my bed, and groaned before getting up. I winched as my bare feet touched the cold floor, but it felt better when I walked over to the patch of light on the floor. I looked up at the window that allowed the light through, and smiled. Outside I could see the mountains, and in the yard, a pond surrounded by Sakura trees.

I stood for a moment at the window before sighing and heading to the door. I could still see Tenya's angry face, could still hear him calling me a villan. I opened the door and immediately the smell of food invaded my nose. "Chizome?" "In the kitchen!" I padded towards where the smell of food was strongest. My older brother put a plate down on a table with a smile. "Voila. Cake." I stared at him. "That's... that's not breakfast." He shrugged sat down, pulling his own plate to himself.

"How'd you sleep?" I sighed. "Not well... I just keep thinking-" I quickly found myself wrapped in his arms. "Chi?" He buried his face in my hair and sighed. "That bastard doesn't deserve you. The false hero can't see that protecting family is more important than any lable." I sniffed. "I just... I loved him!" With that I held back the tears I had been holding and sobbed in my brother's arms. He rubbed my arm and gently stroked my hair until I calmed down.

After awhile, I say up and wiped the remaining water from my eyes. "Thank you." He smiled and ruffled my hair. "What is family for?"

It had been a week since the incident, and I loved spending time with my older brother. With him, I could ignore everything, ignore the pressure to be a hero, and ignore people assuming I was a villain since I had protected "Stain the hero killer". Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, and that end was a knock on the door.
