Having retrieved her glasses from the edge of the wooden area behind the school, and then gone into town and get a much-needed coffee, Kameron was feeling slightly better. She's also found her book bag that had been left in the classroom the day before in the main office. Running into Peyton's father had been an added bonus to her quick trip into town; it had reassured Kameron that Peyton wasn't some sort of Vampire like herself. Peyton's father was completely human, now all she had to do was get a look, or smell of Peyton's mother.

Mrs. Peckard, Kameron's eclectic English teacher, was in the library and Kameron made her way over to where the teacher was sitting. Kameron had a free period and was intent on spending it as unwisely as she could. Picking the brain of an astute and imaginative woman might well be what could kick-start Kameron's thought process.

"This seat taken?" asked Kameron sweetly.

"You are always welcome at my table, Kameron," smiled Mrs. Peckard. "What is on the young scribes mind?"

Kameron chuckled. Mrs. Peckard had always enjoyed the fact that Kameron loved to write. She was by no means a mastermind with the pen, or the laptop keys, but she did enjoy writing.

"Nothing to scribe about at the moment, but I do have a thought...."

Putting her pen down, the teacher cupped her face and waited for Kameron to finish her thought.

"It's about vampires."

"What isn't nowadays? A plethora of novels have been released as of late with vampires as the central characters. Now, what is it that is intriguing you about vampires?" asked Mrs. Peckard knowing that she was the go-to person for vampire lore.

"I have a theory. If a vampire, who was just newly turned, had sex with his or her spouse, that child is then born with...."

"Characteristics of a vampire?" asked Mrs. Peckard. "Amongst other things, nice train of thought. They are typically called dhampir."

"That's just it. Would that happen?" asked Kameron. She rolled the word dhampir in her mind for a moment, that's what she was, a half breed.

"Vampires are dead, right?" asked the teacher. Kameron nodded. "Yet the child is alive. Lives, breathes, grows, eats. The Sire wasn't really dead, so that is a very grey area, a lovely area for you to delve into."

"The father's DNA wouldn't have been manipulated yet....," began Kameron, not sure where she was going with this. It was sure to lead to Peyton. In a roundabout way that was, there had to be some connection, didn't there?

"Now you are getting technical. You have put a lot of thought into this. But that's the technical, you, my dear, are an emotional and relationship writer," stated the teacher.

"You're right. The vampire child, the hybrid, the living vampire meets someone who seems to throw all her or his senses off guard. An anomaly in her life..."

Kameron paused, seeking for the words.

"Go on, you seem to have made up your mind that the character is a woman, a girl, a barely formed woman, but a woman nonetheless," said Mrs. Peckard.

Swallowing and taking a deep breath, Kameron preceded, "This other girl seems to make her senses go awry, her lust for blood goes unchecked, her control is weakened."

Mrs. Peckard smiled knowingly. "Teenagers hormones can do a number of vastly insane things."

Kameron licked her full sexy lips, taking a huge chance but wanting, needing to risk it. Charming someone was tricky, charming them in the middle of a room filled with other people, was even trickier. "We are going to have a conversation that never happened, when I get up from the table, we'll have spoken about something as trivial as having a bad day at school.
