Kameron could smell him, so that meant he could smell her - the crux to that was how could she change her scent? There was nothing she could think of to do that and in an instant, he was at the door of the barn.

"It is interesting that you were able to get that car miles from here," said Baltar, he began to circle Kameron.

Flexing her hands, Kameron shrugged. "I guess I'm good that way, huh?"

"You are no ordinary vampire, Kameron, in your veins runs the blood that could save me from the curse of walking only in the darkness."

"Why would I care?"

"I've made Sarah into one of us," said Baltar, watching her every move, listening to every beat of her heart, attempting to feel any of her emotions, but wasn't able too.

"So, if the legend is right, I kill you, she's human again, right?" smiled Kameron.

"There are many legends and folklore that are, shall we say, incorrect," laughed Baltar.

Kameron realized she was really going to have to kill him. His heartbeat told her that she was right, killing him would not only revert Sarah back to human, but that thing that had once been her that would be human again also.

"Come on, old man, show me what you've got," yelled Kameron launching herself at Baltar.

Baltar laughed, spinning away from the sloppy attack. "You are a mere fledgling."

Kameron hit the ground, rolling to her feet and turning. She let the jacket fall to the cold ground, her whole body glowing with power.

"That's why I took out ya boy wonder, huh? He's up there, pegged to the roof. Facing east," smiled Kameron her fangs glistening with blood. "Stakes might not work in the chest, but they work on hands and feet."

"Killing him won't turn Sarah back," he said. "You'll have to kill me."

"You're the last of your line, killing you turns HIM human too," said Kameron. "See, here is the thing there grand dad, he's my father."

"Is that what you really think?" whispered Baltar now understanding her scent to him, it was the blood in her, but it didn't smell as sweet as he thought it would have. Instead, it was ringing as almost a warning. "You are human and vampire, so you have figured it out. I did not give you enough credit," he nodded, his green-chipped eyes filled with understanding and revelation. "You are the best and the worst of us."

"Just the best, so, going to show me what you've got? Or we can sit here and wait for the sun to come out," said Kameron. Before Baltar could answer, she sprung towards him, landing a hard right to his jaw. A blow that would have shattered any human's bones, but he wasn't human.

Before he could react, his anger bubbling, Kameron fled into the woods, her woods, her hunting ground. Let him find her, she thought.

The woods were thick with the fog that the sun caused when it began to shine on the world. It wasn't enough to cover her tracks, and certainly wasn't going to cover her scent. In a few short minutes, Kameron had made it to the tree house, and she was now laying flat on the roof.

Now she listened.

Baltar was angry, livid; his heart rate was steady and not elevated. But, Kameron knew that vampires hearts didn't beat faster, just differently. Only humans. Closing her violet eyes, she steadied her own heart rate, forcing it to slow, matching Baltar's.
