FRIDAY 20:56

The theatre room was already full of highschoolers awaiting the upcoming play from the seniors. Sam sat in the second row along with Sophia, Katie, Lucy and Lucas. This would be the day he'd be watching his sister perform as Amelia, the girl born into a rich family. Sophia was also excited for the play, but not because of Haley. Her brother Taron would be portraying a character named Logan. The theatre room was plunged into darkness before the stage curtains opened and the play commenced.

Sam was bored during the first couple of scenes. The audience was introduced to Amelia's rich family dining with Amelia's soon-to-be husband Robert. While the family seemed to be having fun, Amelia seemed a bit absent and lonely. As the play continued Sam got impressed by his sister's acting. Haley seemed to have talent for showing emotions without any verbal expression. The next scenes involved Amelia meeting a new young man, called Logan. Their chemistry was undeniable and the audience could tell Amelia liked this guy much more than her fiancé. As the story evolved things seemed to get complicated with Amelia's parents disapproving her new love interest because of his poverty. But that didn't bother Amelia who continued meeting Logan secretly. One day Logan ended his relationship with Amelia abruptly without any explanations. It was only after a while that she found out from Logan's brother that he was admitted to a hospital for a terminal disease. But her parents strictly prohibited her to visit the dying man, urging her to marry Robert instead.

The curtains closed and opened once again to reveal the final scene.

" You are so gorgeous! Oh, I am so thrilled!" her mother gushed over her daughter's dress.

" If you're so thrilled, why don't you marry him instead?" Amelia said with a bitter expression on her face.

Mrs Celia sighed. " Here we go again.. Do we have to bring that up? Why can't you just enjoy this fabulous day. It's your wedding day!"

" No, it's my selling day. I feel like I'm being sold off to some rich guy and for what? So, you can profit from his money?"

" Honey, you know we're close to being bankrupt. His family is the only way we can stay afloat. I know you don't love him, but do you love us?"

Amelia shook her head. " Yes." she sighed, surrendering to her mother's pleading eyes.

" Great! Now, take that." she handed her the flowers. " And off you go."

The curtains drew to a close, after a while a new scene was revealed. This time the groom waited at the altar alongside the priest. As Amelia was escorted by her father to the altar she seemed confused, like she was contemplating something. On the other end of the aisle her groom was smiling warmly at her. The ceremony began with the priest asking the most important question.

" Robert, do you take Amelia to be your lawful wife, to love and cherish her in sickness and health, in good times and in bad?"

" I do."

The priest turned to Amelia next. " Amelia, do you take Robert to be your lawful husband, to love and cherish him in sickness and health, in good times and in bad?"

Amelia was about to say yes when a thought resurfaced. What about Logan? That's the guy she loved the most. The last time they saw each other he yelled at her ordering her to stay away from him. He told her that she would only suffer with a poor guy like him. He said she should marry Robert instead. But she knew he didn't mean it. She was sure he didn't mean it. She glanced to her parents who were sitting in the first row. Her father gave her an encouraging nod. Her mother smiled. She looked Robert in the eyes. He frowned, apparently not content with her indecisiveness.
