MONDAY 18:00
Sam and Harrison knocked on the door. No one responded for a while. Sam knocked again but no answer. He exchanged a look with Harrison who seemed worried. Sam banged on the door and that's when it clicked open. Sophia stood in the doorway, shooting Sam a disgusted glance.
" What do you want?" she asked coldly.
" Can we come in?" Harrison asked. Sophia moved to the side, letting them in. Once inside, Sam glanced around the house.
" Are you alone?" he asked, glaring at her.
" Yes." she motioned for them to sit on the sofa. Harrison seemed mad but that didn't prevent him from stretching out, making himself comfortable. Sam on the other hand had to control himself not to burst out of anger.
" Why do you ask?" Sophia frowned.
" Because I'm not sure your parents would be happy to know about your personality disorder." he said.
Sophia scoffed. " Personality disorder?! What are you on about?"
" You're Taylor, aren't you?" Sam asked. Sophia got red in the face, she leaned back, her gaze faltering to the ground.
" How did you know?" she glowered at him.
" You called the police on Harrison. Why?" Sam asked. Sophia crossed her arms, glaring at Sam.
" Because I thought he'd turn on you. I wanted you to lose him as a friend." she said, her voice breaking. " Because you don't deserve any friends, Sam. Not after what you did to me." she wiped off a tear.
Harrison frowned. " Ugh, what about me?!" he pointed to himself. " I nearly went to jail because of you, Sophia! From now on the police will keep a close eye on me, my business is over and I'll never be able to repay those guys. I might as well be dead. I will never forgive you!"
Sophia accorded him an icy look then glanced away in discomfort. Sam just couldn't believe how cold she was.
" If you did this because of what you saw at the park, I'm sorry I made you feel that way but you shouldn't have taken it out on.." Sam started to say but the confused look on Sophia's face made him stop. Sophia was shaking her head in disagreement.
" I didn't do this because of what happened at the park." Sam's brows furrowed.
" I knew you were gay for a long time." she continued. " I was the one who took the picture of you. I posted it and then I made it my mission to make your life as miserable as possible." she sneered, saying every word with as much passion she could muster.
Sam felt like someone had poured a large bucket of ice over him.
" When you didn't come with me, I found that weird.." she explained, tilting her head to one side. The tears were now gone and all Sam could see was hatred. " As I went up the stairs and turned to see whether you'd join me I saw you went to the garden with Brad and that's when I decided to follow you guys. I felt so awful.." her voice cracked. " when you guys kissed. And I wanted you to feel the same pain I felt."
" All this time you pretended like nothing was wrong." Sam observed her in disbelief. " You're the one who should be ashamed of yourself."
" There were times when I wanted to strangle you, believe me!" she stated. " And then there were moments when I thought the kiss meant nothing to you and that you loved me. But when I asked you on Facebook about me you had doubts. And that's when I knew you were fake!"
Harrison grabbed his head in shock. " You're mental!"
" I got more insecure as time went on. I wanted to know about every move you made. I was starting to get curious about the people you were talking to."
" That's when I thought you were getting annoying every time you wanted to know what I talked about with anyone I encountered." Sam winced.
" Don't think you're a victim! I suffered too!" she yelled. " Do you know how many days I spent in bed, crying my eyes out? Not going to school because I couldn't stand to see your face? Remember when I didn't come to school because of mononucleosis?" Sam nodded.
" I wasn't sick." she revealed. " I was heartbroken."
" And that week before Christmas when I didn't respond your calls? I simply didn't want to do anything with you. You disgusted me. After the senior's play when we hung out with Haley and Taron, I could see you flirt with Brad. I had to control myself not to hit you."
Sam was unable to speak. Harrison next to him shuffled uncomfortably, he glanced at the door, apparently looking for an exit.
" And you're so self absorbed, Sam, that it hurts me. Never, not even once did you ask me how my day went. You were never interested in me! All you cared about was boxing."
" That still doesn't give you the right for what you did. You literally said you wished I died."
Sophia nodded. " You and Brad." she confirmed. Sam couldn't help but feel disgusted and sad at the same time.
" Brad didn't do anything wrong. If you wanna blame someone, blame me."
" He kissed you, knowing you had a girlfriend."
" I kissed him!" Sam yelled, getting up. " He had nothing to do with it."
" Get out! You're not gonna yell at me in my own house." she rose, glaring at him.
" If you weren't a girl, I'd punch you right now." he said.
" Get out!" she said through gritted teeth.
Sam left the room, slamming the door behind him. Harrison followed suit.
