you know what this is, it's a hard topic but we need to address it.
it-it is, it's hard. you can't hide it,
so what approach do we take with our kids?
well, you know, i think it depends on the age of the kids.yo, so,
i turn the T.V. on today
to hear what the people are saying,
and all i seem to hear is,
click click,
bang bang,
wait, you gotta be kidding me though?
kids killing kids before they have the chance to grow
they see bullets have riddled their souls
i bet they blame Eminem,
but where in the world is the caring at?
where are the teachers to preach us, to reach us,
yo where in the f— are the parents at?
when will the media see that the reason we are in pieces is easy,
our kids are the future,
don't let 'em shoot ya.run run,

bang bang
'cause fighting back it 'aint enough,
click boom
how these kid's growing up so soon?
oh whoa,yo,
why is orange the new black?
why are guns the new cool?
why's little Timmy gotta worry 'bout where
his parent's at and he's gotta hide in school?
why they got this kid on riddling,
but don't give him no rules?
try to get little Timmy in the mood to build again,
but don't give him no tools.
yo, why don't you care?
when Timmy gets punched in the face, why aren't you there?
yo Timmy gets pushed every day
he's right on the edge,
and i'mma say,
nobody's prepared for what's up ahead,
'cause what's up ahead is all in his head,
his meter is full,
it's all in the red,
the teachers are cruel,
the kids are impaired,
now on the way home he's crying (screaming),
papa's already started drinking,
mama still 'aint call for some reason
all about tomorrow,
he's thinking
"bring it"
no love involved,
he's a renegade in that fact,
and the next day for class,
show and tell got his favourite toys in that bag.run run,

and Timmy thought it was fun,
he don't know what he doing,
he don't know what he done,
he don't know he just killed,
he don't know 'bout cord,
that kid don't know how that feel,
he don't what's real or not,
little Timmy don't know about appeals,
all he knows about is that xbox and that bottle of pills.now he got cuffs on and he crying,

there have been an alarming number of school shootings,
this is happening more and more,
and the media can't jus ignore it

i mean,
kids are saying,
"what about my school?"
"is my school safe or is the bad guy gonna come there?"
those are hard questions,
because, we just don't know.— timmy's got a gun by 1 AMVRKA

again, this may not technically be poetry so much as it is a song, but i am in love with it and how powerful its message is. it is a beautiful song and i highly recommend it.
