It was the day before Thanksgiving Carrie just finished taking Diamonte and Francis grocery shopping since Mima was off with her no job having boyfriend and Uncle Hector was at work with the car. Diamonte was helping Francis with the food while Carrie was - standing in the kitchen looking cute. Poor child couldn't cook to save her life. The main dishes were placed in the oven and Francis was preparing the stuffing so the girls decided to headed out on the front porch where the boys were at shooting dice. "Hey Diamonte." Lucy One of Jame's girlfriend said waving at Diamonte. Diamonte shook her head while waving back. James was a huge player and she couldn't believe those girls actually fell for his lies. Diamonte took a look around at the mini gang of people that was standing out but really she was looking for Bibby. And when she didn't see him she became disappointed. Dia wasn't the type of girl to beg someone to be in her life, her pride wouldn't let her do that. She thought it would be different with Bibby, because she felt different with him. He made her feel higher than Sean, and because of that she felt like she was betraying his trust. She was trying to imagine how Sean would feel with her moving on but everything was blank. Then she would put herself in Sean shoes, to think about how would she would feel if she was the one in the grave and he was the one still living. That's what kept her up at night, trying to please the dead and not living her life for her. Dia wanted to talk to Bibby until the moment it felt right, Like Sean was giving her his okay on the situation. Until then, She would just sit home being the hopeless Diamonte that everyone knew oh too well. Herb saw the look on Dia's face as she stared off into space and when she walked back inside the house he followed her. Dia turned around after washing her hands to see Herb leaning against the kitchen counter. "Why you not outside?"

"I wanted to talk to you.." Dia looked confused as she took out the grapes. "Talk to me about what? If it's about your friend ion want to hear it."

"C'mon Dia I know you were looking for him."

"I can care less about your friend Hebert."

"Damn it's that deep ya gotta call me by my gov name? I think y'all both being childish. We damn near eighteen still playing these games."

"Really.. I don't care." Herb just shook his head before sighing, "Aye Cuz look, I'm only telling you this because I care. Bib ain't avoiding you he's just dealing with his father right now. He started smoking again, and he's got lung cancer so you know that ain't good." Diamonte hid her concerned face well as she continued to stare at him blankly when she really wanted to ask, "what hospital is he in?"

"Sounds bad but that don't have nothing to do with me." There was the cold hearted Diamonte Herb knew and was starting to hate. Herb decided not to say anything else, Diamonte was shutting down and she may have been like a sister to him but he wasn't about to beg her to talk to him. He grabbed a hand full of red grapes before going outside. Dia's phone beeped in her pocket and it was a message from Herb telling her what hospital and room he was in.

Bibby finished signing the renewal insurance plan for his father since he had to get a different surgery done. Once it was finished and signed he had three more papers to sign in case something went wrong with the surgery. Senior was scheduled to have his surgery the day after thanksgiving and Bibby was beyond nervous. He didn't want to lose his father but he felt he was already gone. Bibby sat in the waiting room, while his Aunt Nellie and Aunt Noms were in the room with Senior. "Man you look awful." Bibby looked up and chuckled at Damien. He started to get up but Damien stopped him, "Don't get up, I'll sit down." Damien sat down next to Bibby and fixed his jacket. "Laytone told me about yo pops, so I had to come check on you. You not just my worker, you like a little brother to me." Damien would've said son but he failed in that category.

"Damn. Does everybody know about his condition?"

"Nah, Laytone was keeping tabs on you. Were you been able to see him?"
