Sitting in her room, Diamonte sat on the ground drawing eating a honey dripper Bar brought her. "Diamonte!" She lifted her head up when Francis busted in her room. Taking out headphones, she looked up to her handing her the house phone. "I've been calling you for the longest. Put your phone on the hook."

"Okay Francis." Diamonte looked at the caller ID as she watched Francis walk back upstairs. "Who's this?"

Bibby laughed on the other end, "That's how we answer the phone Ma?"

"Yep, what you want? I'm busy."

"Damn you gonna treat a nigga like that?" Diamonte sighed, "Nah I'm just tryna finish this drawing right now."

"Well when you're finished with that, you should come chill with me.."

"Didn't we just hang out like two weeks ago.. And you're just now calling me back."

"Oh that's why you tripping because a nigga haven't called you?"

"Not even close."

"I just got caught up in some shit.."
"Stop trying to give me explanations like we together or something, I don't care." Bibby shook his head as he pulled up to a red light.

"How-"

"Look like I said, I'm tryna get this drawing done, I'll call you later." Hanging up Diamonte put the phone down and focused on her portrayed. Once she was done she looked out the window to see the sun shinging bright. Tying up her sneakers she grabbed the house phone and dialed out Carrie's number.

"What's up baby mama?"

"You doing something right now?" Carrie glanced at Herb before laughing, "Nah I'm just chilling, you wanna meet up?"

"Yeah I'm hungry."

"Oh I want some Jenkins. I'll met you up there in a hour." Diamonte hung up and put the phone on the hook. She walked upstairs with her hands in her pocket. Walking straight to her brothers room, she heard laughter coming behind the door. It wasn't surprising to see Twinkie and Mally playing the game with Bar because they were never at their own home. "I'm going out."

"With who?" Bar head snapped towards the door as he paused the game. "Aye Cuz!" Mally yelled throwing his hands up.

"Why? I'm the oldest remember. You want something for Jenkins?"

"I do." Mally said smiling, "Let me get uh a number eight-"

"Hell no, your feet not broken get yo ass up and walk yourself if you hungry. I'm talking to my brother."

"I hope you're not-"
"I'm not, but if I was that's my business." Diamonte closed the door, not caring if he wanted anything anymore. Bar made it very clear when she got home Tuesday, he didn't want his sister running the streets with Bibby. Diamonte wasn't paying Bar any attention because she was the oldest and she did want she wanted. She loved that her brother was overprotective of her just as much as she was over him but if she wanted to pursue a relationship with Bibby, Bar would have to get over it. Diamonte wasn't interested in keep Bibby nothing but a friend because she didn't do relationships, she barely had friends. She's witnessed first hand on what falling in love meant and she didn't want to deal with it. The only people that she believed loved her was Bar, Mary and Carrie other than that she didn't believe anybody love her. Those were the only people that had her best interest in heart. To her - Francis only dealt with them because she felt bad about their mother dying and she didn't want them to be orphans. Nobody wanted that on their heart.
