Behind the Elevator Doors [Riren/Ereri]

Chapter 4

"Eren?" Mikasa yells from the kitchen. It was Saturday and Mikasa never saw him last night. She walks to his bedroom and see's him sleeping up straight with the laptop still in his lap. It was 11:30 am. Mikasa walks over and shakes him awake. Eren gets up quickly and looks around. He then sees Mikasa.

"Oh, hey Mikasa." He says as he stretches. He looks at the laptop and closes it. Mikasa furrows her brow and crosses her arms over her chest. "What?" Eren asks confused on why Mikasa was giving "the look". She rolls her eyes.

"How late did you stay up working?" She asks and takes the laptop off the bed and onto the night stand. Eren doesn't say anything at first until she glares at him. Eren sighs.

"2 am.." Eren admits as he gets up out of bed. Mikasa drops her mouth and watches him stumble to the bathroom. Eren takes his tooth brush and squeezes the last bit of toothpaste onto the brush. Eren looks at Mikasa through the mirror. "Oh come on, it's not so bad." He mumbles and starts to brush his teeth. Mikasa leans against the door frame.

"It is when I see bags under your eyes showing you didn't get enough sleep." She states and waits until he stops brushing his teeth. He spits the paste and washes it with water. He wipes his mouth and then leans on the counter with one hand.

"Look, it won't happen again. I'm only doing this to get the job, Mikasa. I'm doing this for us." He says and walks out again. Mikasa follows him out the door and into the kitchen. She takes a seat at the table and watches Eren take out eggs and bacon. Mikasa sighs as she finally gives up on the argument. She knows that Eren is try to get the job. She smiles as she watches him burn his finger while heating the pan. A few moments later as he's done cooking breakfast, they sit down and eat with each other.

"Doing good in school?"

"For the main part?"

"What are you struggling on?"

"Math." She says with some eggs in her mouth. Eren nods and takes a bite of his bacon. He usually wants Mikasa to do well in school, but he's cutting her some slack since she's a senior and will be going off to college soon. He's proud that she's trying out for an college and got accepted. After they finish their breakfast Mikasa went out with her friends and Eren decided to work on his paper work. After hours of working, he finished and got a phone call.

"Hello?" 

"Eren Jaeger?" 

"Yes?"

"It's Petra. I was wondering if you could do me a favor." Petra says on the other line. Eren tilts his head.

"What's the favor?" He asks. There was a pause and Eren got confused. "Petra?"

"Oh! Sorry, uhm.. I was wondering if you could go to Mr. Ackerman's house?" She says in a hoarse tone. She must be sick. Eren froze. Go to Levi's house!? He didn't say anything for a minute "Eren?"

"Oh yes uh, what for?" He asks. Eren could hear her sigh of relief. 

"Levi got injured over the weekend while working out. He needs a couple things." She explains. He got his address and the things he needed to get for Levi. "Thanks again, Eren." She said with relief.

"No problem, get well Petra." He said in a light tone to make sure that Petra wouldn't find out he's actually terrified. They both said their goodbyes and Eren decided to puts black jeans on with a green shirt. he slips on his black leather jacket and his vans. He takes his keys and his phone and walks to his car.

Knock Knock. Eren knocks on Levi's apartments, holding the few things he needs. There wasn't an answer so he took the key Petra told him to get and opens the door. He peeks his head inside and all the lights are off. His place was spotless. He finally steps inside fully and shuts the door quietly. The living room held a cream colored couch with a spruce, clean coffee table. A couple bookshelves and an entertainment center holding a big Plasma TV. His kitchen has marble counter tops with freshly painted brown cabinets. Wow. Eren thought as he walks in his apartment. It was a lot more spacious than his and Mikasa's. He set the things on the kitchen counter. He when he knocks on the door which he thinks is the bedroom, the door opens slightly. He opens the door fully to find Levi on his kind-sized bed, his leg popping out and on his laptop. When Eren enters the room fully, Levi looks up and gives him a glare.
