(Ash's pov)
"Ashlyn, honey wake up were here." Comes my mother's sweet but overly high-pitched voice.
"Coming." I respond back getting up and out of the passenger side of the car. I look up at the three-story house.
As me and my mom make our way up the drive way, I see a teenage boy in what looks like his bedroom window. I raise my hand and wave but notice as he moves away from the window as fast as he could which caused him to fall over.
I laugh as I walk into the house my mom turning to look at me with a raised eyebrow.
"What are you laughing about?" She asked.
"The neighbors son was watching us and I waved at him and he fell over." I say back smiling. She chuckles and mumbles something under her breath and continue to bring boxes into the house.
"Mom?" I call.
"Hmmm?" She hums out.
"Why'd we move into a three-story house?" I asked.
"Because I have the second floor and you get the third." She says.
I look up surprised, "Really?" I ask
"Yup." She says popping the "P".
I run up the stairs to the third floor, looking around with a huge smile on my face. The third floor had its own living room, 3 bathrooms, and 4 bedrooms.
I look through all four rooms and decide on the one with the window seat. As I start unpacking my stuff I notice that my window faces that guys window.
I pull out the paints and furniture for my room and start getting everything done the go through all the rooms and get them set up and looking nice. I go back to my room and make my bed with my black and purple comforter and sheets.
'KNOCK KNOCK'
"ASHLYN!!" Mom yells "WE HAVE GUESTS."
"COMING!" I yell back.
I run down the stairs into the main living room and smile looking over the guests, noticing that its two families.
"Hello..." I wave awkwardly. "I'm Ashlyn but just call me Ash." I say softly.
"Hello dear, I'm Susan Hargrove and this is my husband Neil. We live on the left side of your home." Says Susan then a terrifying voice spoke.
"This is our kids Max and Billy" Says Neil.
I wave and notice the Max waves back with a timid smile. Billy is looking me up and down, so i raise my brow at him.
"And I'm Karen Harrington and my husband Joe Harrington." Says Karen.
"And our son Steve" Replies Joe.
Again, I wave. Mr. Hargrove looks me up and down the speaks, "Are you good with children?" He asks.
"Yes sir, I am." I reply quietly.
"Would you be able to watch Max for us, since our son can't" Mr. Hargrove says.
"um...sure...I mean...yes sir." I reply.
"Why do you say 'yes, sir' hmm?" Asks Billy.
" I do it because in Georgia it's a sign of respect to adults and elders." I say as my mom nods her head.
"Yes, and my daughter knows better than to disrespect an adult." She says giving me a hard look.
"Will you be attending Hawkins High?" Asks Steve.
