Mercy

   I awoken out of my sleep by the sound of the ship alarm and a red light flashing on and off. I get out of bed and let my hair fall from my bonnet and I look around and saw the other three looking just as confused as I was. The PA System was turn on and the captain clears his throat and I shiver as Aries puts his hand on my shoulder.

"The first contestant has fallen, only 5,123 left." With that, the doors all click and swing open. I step away from the door as it looked as if it led to a dark abyss. 

"Step away from the door." Aries says and we hear another girl scream and laughter. 

"This is the purge." Ashanti says quietly and Aries reaches I his suit case and loads his hand gun.

"You brought that with you?!" I whisper and he opens his mouth to say something when we hear footsteps coming.

   We all get under the bed quickly and someone walks into the room rummages through our things. I stay silent hiding under Aries bed. I feel the bed dip as the person sits down and another scream was heard but closer. The sound of a walki-talki tuning in was heard.

"Jeremy head to the deck, captain called a meeting." 

"Headed there Logan." Jeremy says and gets off the bed and leaves.

   We stay hidden until the sun started to set. Once it was sun rise, the doors closed and we were finally "safe". I get out and we all sat there and looked at each other. The red light ha stopped flashing.

"We have to get off of this boat." I say and Kirana nods and she tries to use her phone but there was no signal.

"Who can we call? How would we get off of this boat. If we're going to get off of this boat we're going to need to know how to get where we're going , how to get there and survive all of these nights Merc." Ashanti says and I let out a breath and lay on the bed.

"Then what do you suggest?" I ask with a slight attitude and she scratches her head and slaps her thigh with her hand.

"We're gonna have to survive the night." By the afternoon, the doors open and the PA system was turned off and the door 

"Welcome to this game of sharks and minnows. From dusk till dawn is when the killings will happen. Can you survive the night? Twenty three down...five thousand and one hundred left to go. During the hours the killings don't happen everything will resume to normal. Don't both calling for help because there is absolutely no service." He says and it was turned off.

   Aries looks at us and cocks his gun and aims it down and cautiously walks to the door. I peeks out the door before looking at us and telling us to stay here and get weapons in the room. I look around and found a plastic spoon and I look to see Ashanti with a metal rat tail com and I see Kirana with a switch blade.

"Now how in the h-"

"Shut up." I say and we hear someone walking back. We get ready to attack when Aries says don't attack.

   He told us we were able to walk freely and the captain was right. We get food and stack up on food sneakily. We were getting resources and walked around, looking for hiding spots. Right as everyone was out their rooms and walking around and the sun just now starting to set though the sky was just barely turning gold. I was standing on the left side of the ship, the opposite side of my room and closer to the boys. I get side track until I hear the siren going off. Fear strikes me and I start to head towards my side of the room but I saw people getting slaughtered where they stood. I make a run for the boys room but as soon as I round a corner in their hallway a strong grip grabs my shoulder and a sheering pain in my shoulder. I yell in pain when heavy feet run my way and a snap was heard. I try to get up and run when a large hand grabs my arm and I look over and saw Calum and Michael.
