   That night was dark and cold. Ashton was doing a little bit better and we kept an eye on his wounds. We were growing increasingly hungry and it was slowly starting to show with quick irritation. I was leaning my head against the side of the raft and heard the water beside me move like something had a little bit of force to make it slightly splash against the raft. I lift my head and tried to see in the dark but it was useless. It was just dark blue murky water. I sit up and look at Ashton who was asleep. I feel a slight bump in the raft and I shake Ashton.

"What?" He groans and the raft moves again, this more force and he sits completely.

"What is that? You think it's a log or something? Maybe debris?" Ashton asks and I give him a poker face.

"Now what type of log can move this-" I was cut off my the rubber raft flipping over.

   As if everything was going in slow motion, as I fall into the water I catch sight of the culprit who was messing with raft before closing my eyes due to the salt. I felt the large shark's sand paper like skin scratch against me before a searing, sharp-like pain was in my calf. I feel myself being pulled down further into the depths of the ocean. I start to panic and try to fight it, kicking and punching the shark. I try to swim up when I feel a hand clasp onto my wrist tightly, scaring me. I open one eye slightly and I see Ashton holding something and his grip tightens up and the water around us gets darker and the shark lets go. We both race to the surface and we struggle to flip the raft back over. My heart was racing because my calf was burning and my vision was blurry. Finally we get it over and we haul ourselves into the raft.

   I sit up and look down at my calf and saw a large teeth marks along with a small gash with blood oozing out. I wince as salt gets in my wound. I quickly take my shirt off and wring it out as much as I can before wrapping my leg. Ashton does the same and helps me.

"We need to find land now."
