Ashton

Before I knew it, I was falling back first off the top deck off the cruise ship. I saw Kiran reach for me but she slipped and fell over board with me. I landed on a side raft and it fell and landed onto the  wavy ocean, rain still drenching me. Kirana lands in the water next to me and I wait for her to resurface but she doesn't. I hear gun shots up deck and the faint sound of the PA system turning on. I look around the water and even though my wounds were burning from the salt, I couldn't let her stay down there. I jump into the water and I slightly open my eyes to see her body slowly sinking to the bottom. I swim down and grab her, and pull her back up to the surface. I see that the raft had drifted far from the cruise and with all my power that I had left, I tried to battle to waves to get to the raft, spitting out the salty ocean. I felt my arms getting tired and I look at the unconscious Kirana and I felt responsible for her. I push myself to get to the raft and as soon as I make it, I use my might to lift her onto the raft and push her on there before pulling myself up, using the ropes on the side of the raft. I lay on my back and cough up more ocean water. I close my eyes as rain beats my whole front side.

I open my eyes to see a clear sky and calm waters. I look over and saw Kirana sitting at the edge looking into the water, slumped over like a doll. I slowly sit up and my head starts to pound.

"Ki-"

"We're lost at sea." She says quietly and I sigh and look around but there was no sign of any cruise ship or land.

"We're gonna have to survive somehow..." I say and she looks over at me and then back at the ocean.

"We're as good as dead out here Ashton. There's nothing for us on this raft except rope."

"I'll think of something." I say and she scoffs and leans back into the bottom of the raft with a low level of water.

"We should probably get this water out the raft. I started while you were knocked out cold earlier. You missed it, there were a couple dolphins that swam around us." She says and I nod and start to scoot out water with my hand and I hear her laugh a little bit.

"I think this will help a lot better than your hand." She says and hands me a bucket.

"Thank you." I smile

Throughout the day, to keep ourselves sane, we sang songs and learned more about each other and told our best memories. As the sun was starting to set I noticed we were getting a little hungry. We both lean over opposite sides of the raft and watched as fish swam by. I put my hand in the water and a couple fish swam around my hand, one even brushing it.

"If only I could just catch one." I say and she chuckles a bit.

"If only."
