Few days  passed. Jungkook was rarely home because of his dance  practices.

But when he was, he'd always try to cheer Taehyung up. It was in no doubt that the younger had strong  feelings for his soulmate

But the older couldn't respond to those feelings. He closed himself in the bathroom for hours, stared at one spot on the tile floor until his tears had dried out.

And Jugkook had to pretend like he didn't hear the quiet sobbing almost every night.

Every time they spoke about the string, Taehyung would close himself and leave the room.

It was quiet, agonising and lonely for the soulmates.

Because deep down, Taehyung cared. But he didn't want to hurt the younger. He knew the time was slowly slipping away like sand between his fingers.

He knew Jungkook deserved all the love in the world.

And that he couldn't give him that because he was unwhole. Because his stupid string was thorn.
And he didn't believe he was the one chosen for the cheerful younger.

So Taehyung had to wait.
Wait for the weeks to pass, wait for the council to remove his string and Jungkook would be free. And Taehyung would no longer need a soulmate.

Whoever's string was thorn, was punished by not being given a new soulmate. Without the string, that person wouldn't feel anything close to love anymore.

And Taehyung was completely okay with that if Jungkook would be happy.

9 am
Taehyung surprised himself as he decided to make breakfast for Jungkook.

While he was serving the plates, he couldn't help but eye his string.

The two loops just standing there.

And his heart swelling every time he thought about Jungkook. Because he didn't love him yet. And he knew he probably couldn't.

As on cue the raven haired boy peeked in the kitchen, a small smile on his lips. With those round eyes, pink cheeks and bed messed hair, to Taehyung, Jungkook looked truly beautiful.

"Morning.", Taehyung greeted and sat on the table.

Jungkook sat across from him."Morning Tae. You made cookies?", the younger stuffed his mouth and munched happily until-

"D-Do I taste honey?"

Taehyung proudly nodded and saw how Jungkook's eyes widened, cheeks still full of cookies. He shot up from the table and straight to the bin, he started to spit.

"Well you could've just said they suck!", Taehyung rolled his eyes behind the boy with an amused face.

And he was amused until Jungkook turned around - pale, eyes hooded and breathing heavily."I'm allergic.."

Before he could say anything else, his body fell limp on the floor.

"Jungkook!", the elder kneeled down and shook the boy who was with closed eyes."Jungkook wake up!"

"You...you have to...give me...", Jungkook pointed to his mouth.

"What?", Taehyung stared at him."Pills! Where are they?"

"You have to give me...

...a kiss.", and Jungkook's face lit up with a huge smile. He opened his eyes and giggled.

Taehyung blinked a few times."You didn't just do that."

Jungkook laughed."I really am allergic but not so much.", the ravenette sat up until his face was inches away from Taehyung's."Now...where's my antidote?"

And while the older boy was wondering whether to slap him, strangle or shoot him, Jungkook pulled Taehyung's face closer and smashed their lips together. The elder surprisingly didn't move away.

Their lips molded together perfectly like puzzle pieces, tongues fought softly and hands roamed around cloth-covered skin.

Jungkook was the one to break the kiss. He panted heavily against Taehyung's inviting swollen lips."Not to...not to ruin the mood but I think something's burning."

"Shit!"

And that's how they decided to go out to eat breakfast.
