Jessie J - Silver Lining (Crazy Bout You)

"Don't care what they say
Don't care what this world thinks
We got each other
That's all we need"

*Summer's POV*

I couldn't help the small giggles that were falling from my lips as I watched on from my seat on the floor. Zoe's hand lightly dragged the eyeliner pen along Alfie's eyelid, causing him to wince and pull some interesting faces, the camera in front of them recording it all.

"Stay still!" Zoe scalded, taking the pen away from his eye.

"I'm trying but when you're coming at me, at my eye with that...thing it's scary!" Alfie laughed back.

The door beside me slowly creaked open, Caspar's head popping through the gap. He motioned for me to follow him. I unravelled myself from my spot on the ground and quietly exited the room, not wanting to disrupt Alfie's video.

I stumbled a little as I stood, a slight dizziness shooting straight to my head but Caspar's hand was quickly grasped around my arm, holding me steady.

"You okay?" He asked, chuckling a little. I nodded a reply and continued to follow him downstairs into our living room.

Zoe and Alfie had come to stay at ours for a few days, we had been messaging each other since Boxing Day trying to organise a big get together.

"What's up?" I asked as he stopped walking, his back facing me.

"Urm, well, I, er." He stuttered.

"Casp..." I asked, walking round his body so that he was now facing me. "What's going on?"

Concern had now overtaken my body and panic was beginning to set in.

"It's, er, it's just that this came in the mail for you and er, well, I kinda know who it's from." He spoke nervously as he handed me a small envelope with my name and old address on the front. Someone had obviously been to my old house and brought it over here.

I instantly recognised the handwriting and everything inside of me sunk. The clear, wavy calligraphy was one that I had grown up with being jealous of, always wanting my plain and simple handwriting to look like hers.

Olivia.

"How-I mean, what is it?" I asked, turning it over in my hands.

"I don't know." Caspar shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.

My hands were shaking as I slowly opened the envelope. Inside was a folded A4 piece of lined paper, clear indents of writing showing through the back. I slid the piece of paper out, discarding the envelope on the floor. Unfolding it caused my heart to beat so loudly through my chest, I was afraid it would break through.

"Dear Summer,

Hey Sis. I guess if you're reading this it means, well, I guess it means I'm dead."

I couldn't help but let a soft chuckle out at her bluntness.

"Ever since I woke up in the hospital and the doctors explained to me what was happening, I knew this was coming. I knew that I didn't have long left. I would say it scared me to death, but that's kind of a sadistic joke to be making in the circumstance of you reading this. I just couldn't go without getting this off my chest, I couldn't leave knowing that you hated me. Call me a coward for doing it this way and not to your face but I just couldn't do it. I can't cause you any more pain than I have."
