Ako Saotome looked at the shelf of books that was in the family room of her home. After scanning over it once, she found what she was looking for. The family photo book from when she was in her second year of elementary, the year where Kirara moved in.
Ako still remembered how she met Kirara. Kirara was trying to catch a rabbit and, without knowing, she followed it into Ako's backyard. Ako was swinging on the old swing set (which she had long since thrown away) and when Kirara came in they were both ... surprised. Kirara sort of followed Ako wherever she went since then.
Ako looked over the pictures. Ballet practice. There she was with Kirara, their hair kept in buns. Ako still remembered how no matter how hard they tried, Mr. and Mr. Hanazono could never get Kirara to leave her hair alone. Ako was once given permission to slap Kirara's hand if she tried to mess with her hair again. Of course, Kirara cried afterward.
"Why do you have to be such a dork?" Ako asked herself with a smile. But now, Kirara's hair would be someone else' problem.
"Ako," said Mrs. Saotome
"Hmm? Yes?" Ako looked up to her mother looking down at her.
"Kirara is outside," said Mrs. Saotome "She said she's taking you to the party,"
It was Ako's birthday, she was turning 16. Since it was such a special party Ako was having two parties, one on her actual birthday and one, well, today. On her actual birthday she would celebrate with her family in a great restaurant Ako had wanted to go to for some time. Today, all the kids of Aikatsu Street were going to the Bokerdole Mansion, the home of their fellow neighbors Henry and Shelly Bokerdole who lived deeper in The Woods then everyone else.
"Oh! Okay!" Ako closed the photo book shut, placed it back on the shelf, then left. "Thanks MaMa!"
Ako dashed out the door and met Kirara out front. "Come on," said Kirara"Let's try and get to the mansion before everyone else! I'll race you!"
"Sure!" Ako felt like she could deny Kirara nothing. She knew better, but she wanted to make sure the last months with Kirara were the best.
The two took off and dashed through The Woods. Past the trees, the baseball field, then finally at the front porch of the Bokerdole Mansion. Ako was amazed how, at first glance, the Bokerdole Mansion seemed like nothing more then a large cabin house. But if you took the time to walk around it, and if you looked inside, you'd see how big it really was. It was such a great illusion, Ako couldn't help but love it.
"Come on," Kirara ran up the steps of the porch and rang the bell "I don't care, Green Brooke or not, this isn't the last time I'm coming here. I love it too much,"
Ako nodded in agreement "Yeah. I'm glad I'll still be able to spend time with you after you ..."
"You know what?" Kirara guessed
"It's not a dirty word, Kirara," said Ako sternly as Shelly Bokerdole opened the door, she smiled sweetly.
"There's the birthday girl," Shelly said "Hello Ako, Kirara, come inside,"
"Thank you!" The two girls said in unison
They walked inside and followed Shelly down a hall they never went down before. "You two sure are early," said Shelly
"Just staying ahead of everyone else," Ako said as Kirara giggled "What's so funny?"
"Nothing! Nothing," Kirara shook her head and tried to look serious but failed
Ako smiled and rolled her eyes, Kirara was such a goof. Granted, the cutest goof in Aikatsu Street. Or at least -
"SURPRISE!"
