A few weeks later, everyone is talking about homecoming.
I don't think I am going to go because LaMelo and I haven't spoken about it.
When I bring it up he just shrugs his shoulder and he changes the subject.
I find it weird but I shake it off.
I get ready for basketball practice and I tie my hair up.
_____
After practice, everyone gets ready to leave.
I wait for LaMelo, but he is no were to be seen.
"Have you seen Melo?" I asked Giselle.
Giselle shakes her head. "No, no I have not, not since practice ended."
Giselle gets up from the gym floor. "Mabey try asking on of his friend, I have to go, bye!" Giselle rushes off,
Weirdo, I think to myself.
I put on my sliders and I grab my duffel bag.
I walk over to LaMelo's friends and teammates and they look at me as I walk up to them.
"-Shut up, she's coming!" I hear one of them say.
"Hey Joslyn,"
"Hey, have you seen LaMelo?"
His friends nod their heads.
"Great," I say. "Where is he at?"
"Can't say, he told us to give you this though!"
They hand me a sticky note and I look at it.
You have to search for me ;)
-MeloI do not have time for this, I wanna go home!
"Okay, he give you anything else?" I asked.
"He told us to tell you to walk out of the gym, you'll find another clue waiting for you. He also said 'Good Luck!'"
I nod my head letting out a groan.
I walk out of the gym and I see a basketball roll towards me.
I pick it up and I notice writing on the sides of it.
Go to the place where we first met, you'll like the surprise that I have bet!
-Big Daddy"Boy ain't my big daddy!" I walk to my car and I dribble the ball along the way.
I drive home and I park my car in my driveway.
I drop my duffel bag in my room and I see two other basketballs on my bed.
I flip them around and I don't see any message on them.
"I know for a fact that these balls weren't here when I left for school this morning," I say to myself.
I grab the balls and I dribble them across the street.
Once I get there I see a bunch of cars in the drive way.
I recognize them as my friends cars.
"What the hell!" I say to myself.
I walk to the door and I keep on dribbling the two basketballs.
I see Giselle open the door and I look at her.
"Follow me!" Giselle giggles.
I hold the balls in my hand and I follow Giselle to the backyard.
I see some of my friends and some of LaMelo's friends too.
They are standing in a circle and Giselle joins them.
I see her glance to the side of the house and I lift an eyebrow at her.
"Pass!" Giselle says.
I pass her the balls that I dribbled on the way here.
She passes them to someone else and then that person passes them to another person.
I see LaMelo walk from the side of the house and he calls for the balls.
Once LaMelo catches the basketballs, he smiles at me.
"Damn, I finally got the balls to ask you out to homecoming!" LaMelo says grinning from ear to ear.
I smile at him.
"So what do you say?" LaMelo asked.
"Duh," I walk up to him and I give him a kiss on the lips.
