The five of us fly into the Light kingdom undetected. I lead us to the far off hut Adelram and I used to live in.
I slowly open the door and see no one is inside. We all go in. The memories of this place come back. Adelram and I confessed our love for each other. Then I remember he took my magic and I want the kill him.
"So what first?" Lunar asks.
"You should see your kingdom." I tell her.
She nods.
After we throw our stuff down we head outside. There's a small farm to harvest. Adelram and I once planned on living here without nobility and raising one or two kids. Things didn't go as planned.
"What should we see first?" Bel asks.
"I'm not sure what's really around here. My mother and father never allowed me out of the castle often." I tell Bel.
Anne walks off a bit and whistles. A giant red bird native to our land flies down. "This is how commoners get around."
"So I just whistle?" Bel asks.
Anne nods. "The right bird will hear your call. Spread out." She advises.
We go off whistling. A couple birds chirp back and eventually one finds me. It's a beautiful boy with bright orange feathers except in his chest. Those are bright red.
I climb on his back and ruffled the feathers for a moment. My parents would never let me do this. Bird riding was not for royalty.
We all regroup by Anne and she leads the way into town. I look back at the twins. Bel put an illusion on Eclipse to hide her purple skin.
We reach a small town and Anne lands.
"What are we doing here?" I ask.
Anne doesn't respond and just leads the way through town.
"Anne..." Bel says.
She stops at a house and her bird flies away and shortly after the rest do as well.
She just stares at the door on the strangely small hut. She knocks on the door and an elderly couple opens it.
"Hi mom. Hi dad."
The woman grabs Anna and hugs her tight. We go to them.
"Momma, this is..."
"My Queen, so it is true you have returned." Her father says bowing.
"Please rise." I tell them.
"There were stories that you never died and that you were coming back to save us and be our queen again." He explains.
"I am so sorry. I am not here to be your Queen. Moon's daughter Lunar will be the Queen of this land. It is her mother's final wish." I tell them taking Lunar's hand and bringing her forward, "I've groomed her better than myself and any other before her. She will be the Queen."
They bow at her feet.
She is shocked. This is the first time her own people have ever bowed to her. What she does next will see the tone for her reign, because these people will talk.
"Please rise." She tells them.
They get up. "Thank you my Queen."
She gives them a gracious smile.
"Please come inside my home." Anne's mom offers.
We go inside the small hut and we sit at the table.
