Screams and flashes of light surrounded her on all sides, the sounds reverberated in her ears and throughout her body. An explosion sounded to the left. She could feel the heat against her skin, the burn tingling. Then another explosion to the right, closer this time. The force of the blow forced the girl to the ground, her hands stopping the fall. Her hands slipped in a dark liquid; it was blood. She whipped her head around, scanning the ground for more. And, of course, there was more. Blood splatters stained the pavement all around her, the scarlet color seeping into the once sparkling concrete. The sound of a car alarm erupted from behind, the sound earsplitting.Heart beating fast, she pushed herself off her stomach. Her breathing became rapid, and her eyes became cloudy as she began to stumble away, trying to find a place to hide. A body lay down on the ground, and then a couple more came into view. Dark red hair caught her eye and she turned her head, the world spinning faster.
Her fellow Avenger—and the only other female on the team. Her head swiveled to look at the other bodies, her hand flew to her mouth, breathing becoming labored, and choked. A sob escaped her mouth as she spotted Steve Rodgers, Tony Stark, and Clint Barton lying on the ground, their bodies soaking in their own blood. Explosions roared all around her. but they seemed to be fading into the background, and a ringing in her ears blocked out the sound. Then she saw a man that she had not seen before in her life, but there was a familiarity. A girl stood over his body, tears falling from her eyes as she cried out with fury. Her hands glowed a deep red and everything around Adriana went haywire, her body being thrown back.
"Adriana!" She heard someone call to her. Her body felt as if it were being shaken.
"Adriana!" The sound of somebody screaming reached her ears, she could make out someone calling her name. Then she realized, the screaming was her own. Adriana bolted up right, her breathing labored. Sweat coated her brow, and her neck as she wiped the tears out of her eyes and pushed back the hair sticking to her skin.
On each shoulder, a hand clutched it tightly, the warmth from the hands seeping into her bare shoulders and warming her. Her body quivered as she peered into the deep blue eyes of Steve Rogers. His eyes held a certain sympathy in them, one that assured her that he was here for her and he understood.
"You alright?" He gave her shoulders one final squeeze, then he pulled a hand away and let his other hand rest on her arm.
"I think so?" It was more of a question, but even she wasn't sure if she was okay. She did not remember the dream, but it had to be bad for her to scream in her sleep. Steve let his hand drop to his side as he stood up from the edge of her bed.
"You dont remember?" The man crossed his arms over his chest, sighing.
"No," Adriana breathed as she stood up herself, wiping the rest of the tears from her eyes.
"I know I say this all the time, but if you need to talk, I'm here for you." Steve said as he left the room, closing the door behind him to allow Adriana to get dressed.
"I know," she whispered.

Her combat boots clicked against the floor with each step toward her destination; the lab. It was early in the morning; the sun hadn't even risen over the horizon. It was just beginning to become spring, so the crisp air from the open windows seeped into the hallway, causing little bumps to rise on her skin. New York was very different from the place she grew up in, where it seemed like it was summer all the time.
Tony had called the Avengers in for their mission in Sokovia, the briefing needed to be early because they had to leave at first light. Adriana turned left into another hallway, spotting a pair of glass doors. As she entered the lab she heard bickering; Tony and Steve were at it again.
"No, Tony, leave it alone, she doesnt want to do it," Steve Rogers spoke, the fact that he was irritated was evident in his voice.
"But she needs help, if she keeps having these dreams then maybe she needs to-"
"I need to what?" The girl interrupted, knowing immediately that they were talking about her. It was no surprise to her that Tony was trying to get her to get help, he had been trying for a long time.
"You need therapy, Adriana, its about time you get some help," he stepped towards her and she rolled her eyes.
"Why don't we focus on the mission at hand, instead of worrying about me and my problems," her words were clipped. Thor and Black Widow arrived, Banner peeking his head out of the next room awkwardly. He had been listening.
"If you dont want to go to therapy I can run some tests instead to see if there is even something wrong, its better than spilling all of your feelings to a perfect stranger."
"Thanks," she thought he understood what she was going through—sort of. He also had reasons to be going to therapy; they all had reasons for needing therapy. But not one of them have ever gone or will ever go. They all try to keep everything locked up inside, and don't communicate at all. Which isn't what a team is supposed to be about.
Which is why she was thinking that it was hypocritical of Tony trying to tell her that she needed therapy, when he needed it, too. She wasn't going until someone else on the team went. So, that meant there was no chance.
"We are going to be taking out a hydra base in Sokovia, hopefully it will be the last," Tony started, the room going silent to listen to him and Steve.
"But thats wishful thinking, Hydra's roots run deep, so this may not be the last of Hydra that we see," Steve added.
"The mission is to retrieve Loki's scepter, and take out as many agents of Hydra as we can."

Adriana quickly adjusted the straps around her thighs as the cargo door opened over the stone fortress that was the Hydra Research Base. From where the girl was standing, she could already see small black dots roaming the rooftops.
Banner was the first to jump off, and then Steve. Next, it was Adriana and Natasha.
She leapt off the ramp, hair whipping around as she dove toward the ground. Wind whistling in her ears, she let herself free fall. Black Widow had already released her chute, now she was the only one left, free-falling toward the white snow.
"Agent Zavesky, release your chute," Stark's voice came through to her earpiece.
She closed her eyes as her body quickly approached the earth.
"Agent Zavesky, release your chute, now!" She could hear him cursing through her earpiece and saw his metal suit flying towards her.
The girl sighed, pulling on the string of her parachute, her body jolting with the sudden pull of the open chute.
Landing with a running start, she let her backpack hit the ground as she charged at the first Hydra soldier.

I hope you guys found it interesting. Pietro was my favorite character in Age of Ultron so I've had this story planned for a very long time. I'm very excited to continue this story!
If there is any confusion, Sophie Turner is not my character's face claim, I don't like to use face claims for my characters. That gif was just to set the mood for this part of the story. Now if you guys would like to get an idea of what she would look like so you can imagine it yourself, she has brown hair and brown eyes. Around 5 foot 5 inches. And you can come up with the rest yourselves.
A/N 2021: so in WandaVision they mentioned what year the Twins were born... they were born in 1989 meaning that in 2015 they were 26 in Age of Ultron.... so all of our assumptions were wrong. Language patrol made it seem as if they were 18 or 19. "He's just a kid." Lmao they're almost the same age as you, silly. Steve may be 100 chronologically but he in the body of a 30 year old smh. So I'll be fixing Adriana's age soon so that it flows better in future chapters. It's be weird if a 19 year old were dating a 26 year old... to me anyways.
