I stared at the thing in front of me, side glancing at me. I don't know how to feel, and leaving this place? How the hell will that help the current situation?

"Will he stay at my father's place then?" Corey asked, genuinely curious. Colby looked at Corey and shakes his head no.

"Your father doesn't take people any longer. He says it's too 'straining' for him" Colby admitted. Aaron looked around after hearing even more footsteps. I heard them too. Corey just scrunched his nose and remained silent after that.

"So where and who will I stay with?" I ask. Now freaking out a bit. Colby returns to facing me completely. He smirks slightly, then points at himself.

"I'd say staying with me would be the safest option we have at the moment"

This dude is out of his mind.

"No it isn't. I don't even know you" I spoke out. The rest of the group remained quiet and simply watched what was happening. Colby stood up from the chair and fixed his suit, then turned to me. Serious as ever.

"If you stay here, spirits could become stronger. Sam, you're the person who summoned them in the first place. Don't get me started with that" Colby tried. I looked straight at him, and for the first time - I could kind of understand what he was trying to say.

"You seem almost scared of me Sam. Care to explain what makes me so terrifying to you?" Colby asked, now slowly taking steps towards me. The group just watched, but it did tick Aaron a bit. It seemed sketchy even to Corey.

"You-you're just-"
"What am I?"
"Creepy. Eerie. Mysterious-" I started, but got interrupted. Interrupted by a laughter.
Colby's laughter.

"Listen. I would never hurt you guys. I'm here to make sure the house will become a safe environment. You won't be staying with me forever, Samuel" Colby started speaking. At first I thought his laughter was unnatural almost, but now I don't know wether I should trust Colby or not. He confuses me beyond an explainable explanation to why.

"Sam.. you should do it" Jake suddenly spoke up. I glanced past Colby who was standing in front of me, and at the group of my friends. They all avoided my eye contact beside Jake and Aaron. This is all so sketchy.

"Why? How will me leaving help the situation at all?" I ask, looking back at Colby for an answer. And he did answer me, as I expected him to.

"Leaving would weaken the summoned spirits. Sam, they are taking your energy as well, only to become stronger everyday. If you leave the place where they were summoned, they're bound to either give up and leave - or follow you. If they follow you, I'll have to demolish them so they won't keep doing that" Colby explained. I listened to his explanation and the others actually found it to be quite understandable.

"I see.. but.. what if you fail to demolish them—"
Colby's face turned dark. Beyond dark. His face turned almost devil-like. Just gazing into my eyes. I got so scared I didn't move or make a sound.

"I never fail" he whispered, darkly. The roommates shivering in distress over his sudden drop of voice tone. He then returned to normal, after I nodded slowly and steadily. Whilst deep in chock.
He smiled.

"So you don't have to worry about staying with me" He assured. Jake walks up to Colby.
"You sure this will help?"

Colby met with Jake's eyes, and smiled.
"No. But I know it's worked for those who's tried so far" he told. Jake nods slightly, then meets my eyes. He approached me.

"Please do this. For the house, ours and yours sake" Jake begged. Putting a hand onto my shoulder to try and make me change my mind about all of this. Colby was staring at me again, and I met his icy blue eyes. Staring straight through me.
