"Yea, I am." Austin smiled. I looked at the ground and his smile faltered a little. "Listen about what happened-" he started but I interrupted him.
"Don't worry about it. It happens." I faked a smile. He stepped forward.
"No. No it doesn't." He said, setting the pizza down. Austin stepped a little closer and I took a step back against the door.
"Seriously, it's okay." I insisted, praying that Angelica would open the door. Austin kept stepping closer until he was four inches away from my face. I turned my head to the side so I wouldn't have to make eye contact with his fiery eyes. "Austin, stop." I told him as he started to reach towards me. I pushed my hand against his chest to make him stop but he looked confused.
"Stop what? I was just ringing the doorbell again." He replied, looking seriously confused. I felt a rush of embarrassment and thankfully, at that very moment, Angelica opened the door. She looked at Austin and then me, and then at the pizza. I ignored her questioning looks and rushed inside. I didn't even bother looking back at Austin and rushed inside.
After I seated myself down, I sighed. I couldn't believe how much of an idiot I was. Angelica followed me into the dining room and set down the pizza. I was absolutely ready to devour it before but I had lost my appetite. My entire life was turning upside down. First with Jackson and now this whole Austin thing. Despite the problems with my mother, I actually liked my life before. Right now, it was a roller coaster and it feels like I'm all alone.
"That was pretty weird." Angelica interrupts.
"Yea." I sighed, running my hand through my hair. My interactions with Austin have been odd lately. "I don't wanna talk about that, though. Let's watch a movie." I smiled at Angelica. She immediately perked up and walked downstairs to the basement, but not before grabbing the pizza. I followed, grabbing a slice. Even if my life was a mess, I could still be myself around Angelica. We log into her Netflix account, and I grab the remote, pressing "High School Musical". I snuggle into the blanket and smile.

The next morning, I woke up to Angelica's alarm. I groaned, tying my bedhead hair into a ponytail. I climb up the stairs slowly and meticulously, as to not wake up Angelica. Right as I'm about to open the door, I bump headfirst into someone.
"Watch where you're going, weirdo." Angelica's 21 year old brother Jack cursed, rubbing the area of his stomach where I bumped into him. I stuck out my tongue. Jack is usually away at college, so I didn't expect anyone other than Angelica's parents to be home.
"Did you get kicked out of college or something?" I said as I shoved past him. He grunted.
"No, I got a job interview near here so I figured why not kill two birds with one stone and visit mom and dad while I'm here. They already left for work, though." Jack said, following me into the kitchen. I fixed my ponytail, nervously fidgeting.
"Want some food?" I asked, setting my phone on the counter. He smiled and nodded. I got to work, making scrambled eggs and bacon. Jack studied me for a moment. I flushed under his gaze.
"When did you get boobs?" He asked. I felt myself redden.
"Shut up." I murmured and he let out a twinkling laugh. Jack, the first boy to ever be my crush. Those kind of feelings don't really go away. But there's no way this could have ever happened. He had a girlfriend that he loves very much. A very pretty one. Speaking of girlfriend. "How's Ashley?" I asked, trying to make small talk. He sighed, stretching. I could see the small hairs leading down to his you-know-what. I gulped, immersing myself in cooking the eggs.
"She's...Ashley. We got into a fight. I think this is the sixth one this week." He walked across the island and stood near me. I could feel the warmth of his body radiate.
"Yeah? That's a toxic relationship" I murmured. He leaned in closer, and my heartbeat quickened.
"Is it?" He whispered. I could feel his breath on the nape of my neck. I turned around, only to met with his face being very close to my face. I glanced at his lips for a split second, before the sound of footsteps coming upstairs tore us apart. He stretched his hand and grabbed a some of the scrambled eggs without breaking eye contact. "These are really good." He said before turning to meet Angelica. Angelica squealed, rushing over to tackle Jack. I ignored their sappy reunion and focused on the cooking, trying to ignore what had just happened. Was it possible that Angelica's older brother, and my childhood crush, was somehow attracted to me?
