I turned around in terror, my heart skipping a beat once again. Luckily I was able to take a breath of relieve as I looked into the familiar face.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just saw you and wanted to say hi."

"Hey, Mike." I took another deep breath, starting to calm down again. "Don't worry about it, I just didn't expect anyone around here."

I could tell that Mike was holding back a smirk. "You don't come here very often, do you?" I simply shook my head and he continued. "We're here all the time."

"We?"

He laughed quietly and shook his head. "Come on. Vic will be thrilled to see you. Oh but don't let him know I told you that." He laughed again and waited for me to get up. So I did. I wasn't in the mood to be around other people but I knew from experience that the Fuentes brothers were extremely stubborn, so the easiest option was to just follow Mike, say hi and excuse myself again after a few minutes.

But I didn't realize what I got myself into until I arrived at the benches and saw just how big the group actually was.

"Look who I brought." Mike announced with a huge grin on his face, before he sat down next to a boy I didn't recognize, leaving me standing in front of them alone. I tried my very best to force a smile but I felt extremely uncomfortable already.

"Hey, Kellin." Vic looked at me with a huge, genuine smile on his face. "Take a seat." He patted the spot next to him, making a girl with bright orange hair move to the side. She smiled at me as well and I immediately broke eye-contact. Instead I looked around the group a little more, which I realized was a mistake as soon as my eyes met Tony. I could tell how irritated he was due to my presence and I slung my arms around myself. I looked down for a sec and took another shaky breath before I looked back at Vic. His smile faded.

"I- uhm, I don't want to intrude."

"Then don't" I heard Tony mumble and I saw Mike stretching over a few people to hit the back of his head slightly. Vic glared at Tony, but his anger vanished as soon as he fixed his eyes back on me. "You want to go for a walk, then?" He raised his eyebrows, the rest of his face stayed neutral.

I opened my mouth, not knowing what to answer. I knew I couldn't go home just yet and spending some time with Vic after this awful day actually seemed quite nice. But I also didn't want to tear him away from his friends. I grabbed the material of my jacket and started to pull on it with a tense grip. I closed my mouth again and managed to force an uncomfortable smile on my face. "Sure."

Vic's face lit up immediately and he stood up in a quick manner, holding his hand up to the others to say goodbye. I took one final glance at the group and saw Mike smirking, causing me to furrow my eyebrows in confusion before we started to walk away.

"Aren't you cold?", Vic asked after we brought a good distance between us and the others. It really was getting colder with every minute since the sun started to set, and the leather jacket over my shirt didn't do a very good job at keeping me warm.

"I- uhm I didn't really expect to be outside for so long but it's fine."

I looked over at Vic who rolled his eyes at my answer. "Bullshit." he mumbled before starting to take off his lined jeans jacket. My eyes grew wide as he handed it to me. "Just take it. I'm wearing another shirt under my sweater so I'll be fine." I looked at the jacket with a frown. "Then at least wear mine instead. I don't want you to get cold because of me." A small smirk was tugging at the corners of Vic's mouth. "Okay, fine."  I took off my leather jacket, causing goosebumps to form on my bare arms and I quickly slipped into Vic's jacket. It was instantly a lot warmer.  "Thank you." I mumbled and pulled the jacket closer around my body. It was surprisingly comforting. I glanced at Vic and saw him smiling back at me. The leather jacket looked good on him.
