I woke up to a familiar smell, it was profound, sweet and salty. I shifted around, restless as my face pressed on the cushion...huh? Cushion. I lifted my head as my vision became clear, looking off to see Tom cooking in the kitchen. He noticed me awake and rubbed his voids a bit, he looked beaten and tired. He needs a break. Maybe I should do something for him, my mind started to wander, eventually reaching uncharted territory. I shook my thoughts away and stood up, ugh, if only I had aspirin- I'm so not thinking straight. I began walking towards the eyeless brit, peeking at the food he cooked, it looked delicious. The bacon sizziling like a campfire, grease popping as hash browns were on a big plate on the side, they reminded me on wheat fields and I sighed loudly. Tom turned off the stove and stared at me,"Whats wrong edd...besides the apocalypse and your head", I laughed slightly and I saw him concealing a smile, my expression instantly falling. "Nothing I just...I miss two days ago, I miss Ringo, I want everything to be normal again", my eyebrows furrowed and I felt helpless, holding in my tears. Eventually, I was yanked into a bear hug, I wrapped my arms around him,"I'm sorry Edd, I do too, but right now we focus on surviving, not trying to change the past". I noded, looking up at him and he smiled, pecking my head with his lips, those soft, thin lips. I fell into a fit of giggles,"I love you, dork", Tom's face lit up and he purred,"I love you too, geekazoid". I began started laughing hysterically,"Wow, geekazoid? Where'd you find that? Www.HowtoBeaLoser.com". Tom huffed and started tickling me, my body jumping a bit, but my laughs turned into loud snorts, and my pale face turned entirely red. "T-tom- oh, Oh, my god, oi s-stop th-this". He let out a playful pout and rested his hands on my hips,"Okay, but I'll be back for more", he threw me onto his waist as I yelped in surprise,"And you better take your punishment for making me cook breakfast", he gave me goofy Eskimo kisses and I smiled. At this moment I truly felt an escape, I felt human...I felt alive again
