I felt everyone staring at me at school today. I wonder if George will bring up what Paul said, or maybe he won't. Part of me what's him to act like that never happened, the other half wants him to know how I feel.
"Y/n." Speak of the devil, it's George.
"Hey Georgie." I turned around, and smiled.
"She said yes. She agreed!" He smiled, I've never seen him so happy.
"That's great!" I was happy for him, if he's happy I'm happy. I always want him to smile, and have a positive attitude, even if it makes me feel terrible.
"What's wrong?" He always knows if I don't feel good, just like I always know if he's not 100%.
"Nothing." I lied.
"Are you sure?" He narrowed his eyes, in a caring way. "Y/n, you can tell me anything." I can't tell you I love you.
"No, I'm fine. I promise." I smiled.
"Okay...if you say so. Oh! I need to tell-" He started to say, but Marissa cut him off.
"Georgie!" She waved him over to her.
"I'll tell you later. Bye y/n." He waved and left.
"Bye." I watched him leave. She calls him Georgie, that's what I call him. Her pretty face, her sweet smile, her- I hate jealousy.
The bell rang, so I went to my class. I sit right next to Paul, and we always get in trouble. We talk too much apparently. But usually we're talking about the subject...mostly making puns and stuff. I hope it's not awkward because of last night.
I sat down, and the tardy bell rang. Where is Paul? He's never late. The teacher called role, and still, no Paul. About 15 minutes into the lesson, Paul walks in.
"Sorry." He says awkwardly, still standing at the door.
"That's alright." The teacher said. "Take your seat." She pointed at his seat, next to me. I smiled at him.
"Where were you?" I asked in whisper.
"I had to talk to the principal." He chuckled.
"Why?" I asked, genuianly shocked. Paul never gets in trouble.
"I kissed yeh, and that's against the rules. He could suspend me but-"
"Paul!" The teacher yelled.
"I'm sorry." He quickly turned his attention to the board.
"I need to move you two, all you do is talk. Paul, behave yourself." She said, kids around us started snickering.
"I'm sorry, I'm the one who started it." I said.
"I don't care who started it, you both aren't listening." She had a point.
"I'm sorry." We both said at the same time.
"This is your final warning." She declared, and went back to her lesson. We sat there in silence then, listening to every word that came out of her mouth.
Soon the next class came, and I had it with Marissa. And guess what? We sit right by eachother in the very back. Paul told me everything. He was going to get suspended, but he was charming so they let him off the hook.
I got to class, and Marissa was already there. She had her papers out, and she pencil ready to go. She's what you would call the teacher's pet. I wonder if George has figured that out yet.
Marissa used to be my best friend, then she found some other people. In hopes to make her my friend again, I introduced her to Paul and George.
Paul and George turned into my new best friends when they saw me sitting alone at lunch. It wasn't Marissa's fault that I sat alone, I just did because I felt left out around her. I felt invisible, so I might as well be gone for good. They're the ones that brought me back. I feel like I'm not invisible anymore. I'm no longer a ghost, trying to give signs that I am here.
I smiled at her when I sat down. She is a nice girl, I just wish she wasn't with George. George has always been there for me.
For example, when I was getting food out of the vending machine it got stuck. He came with the "bright idea" of sticking his arm up into the machine. Guess what happened, his arm got stuck. Soon the firemen were there trying to free George Harrison from the evil vending machine. We never used that machine again, we call him Evil Eric.
"George and I are dating." Marissa spoke. I looked at her and nodded.
"He told me, congrats." I wanted to slit her throat in all honesty. I wonder if Paul was mad at George, I hope not.
"Thanks. So what was the deal with you and Paul?" She asked. She should stay out of my buisness.
"It's fine." I told her, hinting to her that she should shut up.
"Paul's weird. I don't even know why girls even like him, he's such a jerk." That was it. She made me so angry. You do not insult my friends.
"He is not a jerk!" I yelled, everyone stared at me. "Stay out of people's buisness and do not ever talk about my friends like that!" I slammed my hands on my desk. She made me so fucking angry.
"Y/n!" The teacher yelled and I looked up at him, tears in my eyes. Marissa whispered something to her friends, and they all started to chuckle. "Principals office. Now!" He pointed to the hall. I grabbed my stuff and did as he said. I've never gotten in trouble before.
I sat there, waiting. All this pressure was building up inside me, and I broke. I started to cry, and I had never cried at school before. That was my rule, and I broke it.
"Y/n." The principal called me in, I wiped my eyes and went in. "What happened?"
"I'm sorry I blew up like that." I refused to look up at him. "She was saying bad things about my friend."
"Paul?" He asked and I nodded. "Well, you two are not bad kids. I'll talk to Marissa." He said.
"No!" I said on accident.
"Why not?" He asked.
"She'll lie. She'll say she never called Paul those things. She'll blame it all on him." I wiped my eyes again.
"I need to get her side of the story."
