~Irene's POV~

Later that night, my phone rang suddenly. I stared at the number curiously before hitting answer, "Hello?"

"Irene?"

"Yes, this is her. Who is this?"

"It's Sarah. I need your help. Jesse convinced Erica to ditch her babysitting job to go with Jesse and his gang to a party as punishment for me not biting someone, and so now I've taken her babysitting job and I have to deal with Jesse somehow and save her, because she won't liste-Are you looking for something, or are you just an incredible perv?"

"I... Uh... No! I... Uh..." The sound of the door shutting could be heard on the other end and Sarah sighed, "As I was saying she won't listen to me."

"I'm on my way. What's the address?" I quickly scribbled the address down on my hand before throwing on my shoes and heading out the door. I slowly made my way up to the house, gently knocking on the door. "Pizza guy!" could be heard from Benny on the other side of the door. He swung it open swiftly, frowning when he saw me, "Sorry to disappoint. May I come in?"

"Uh, yeah, sure, I guess," Benny sighed, scratching the back of his neck. "Hey, look, you guys don't really need a sitter, do you?"

"Depends what you mean by, 'need'," Benny smirked with a wink. "My definition of need would most likely involve you shutting up." Ethan started to laugh as Benny's face fell. He turned back to Sarah, "No, no, we're fine. My mom just likes humiliating me to make a point."

"Okay, good. We need to go find my friend, Erica. I think she's in trouble."

"Uh, maybe I should come with you. You know, for protection," Ethan coughed out. Sarah chuckled as she dropped her phone. Ethan and her both bent down to grab it, their hands connecting. Ethan gasped, and Sarah yanked her hand back, "Trust me, you don't want to go out tonight. Besides, save those muscles for protecting yourself."

"Did you just see that?" Ethan questioned. "Uh, later guys," I chuckled, quickly wanting to find a way out of the house.

Sarah and I quickly made our way through town. I turned a corner, wincing at the harsh lights. Sarah's footsteps started to become light, and she almost fell. "You haven't had anything to drink, have you?"

"Not for a while," she sighed. I slowly helped her to an ally, snatching up a rat for her with ease. She quickly latched onto it, and I jumped at the sound of trash cans tumbling as the other rats fled for their safety. Both Sarah and I turned as we saw Benny and Ethan screaming. My fangs jumped out as their heartbeats became nauseatingly loud in my head. Sarah grabbed my shoulder as I hissed involuntarily. Ethan fled immediately after while Benny continued to scream until Ethan returned to grab him and tug him along. Sarah quickly sucked dry the rat before we followed the boys slowly from a distance. "Remember Halo level three? The battle plan I sent you? Evasive maneuvers!" Benny took a several series of steps, "Alpha phi strike delta six. Engage!" before tumbling over a dried flower bed. Ethan quickly jogged over as I struggled to hold in my laughter. "You missed the pattern."

"Sometimes, I just skim your emails."

"Fair enough." Ethan held out his hand, quickly helping Benny up, "Thanks."

"What's your problem," Sarah said nonchalantly as she stood with her arm on my shoulder just behind them. They both jumped back screaming, Ethan being the first to form coherent words, "Just, hold on! If you eat us, that would so not be cool."

"If we wanted to eat you," I laughed, letting the fear waft from them to my nose. "We would have done it by now," Sarah finished. "See, they're going to eat us! We're doomed!"
