~Sarah's POV~
A sudden banging interrupted our conversation, "Hey, dudes! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's super Rory!" Rory reached down for the windowsill, wincing as it burns his hand, "Ow! What the heck!?" Ethan and I couldn't help but laugh, "You have to be invited in, genius."
"Jesse doesn't tell us anything. So, can I come in?" Rory asked seriously. "Yes," Ethan chuckled, "But as long as you promise no blood sucking. Okay?"
"Dude. My mouth on your neck? Ugh," Rory gagged. Rory pulled himself into the room with a thud, "Oh, also, Irene the gothic hottie wanted me to pass on the information that she is okay, well, as okay as she can be."
"What's Jesse doing to her?" Benny called from the computer screen. "I don't think you wanna know, Benny..." Rory said solemnly. "Rory!"
"He's hoping to starve her and then bring you in so you'll be all she has," he said quickly, twiddling his thumbs. Ethan and Benny's eyes both went wide at this, and I could feel my heart jumping into my throat. "Well," Benny coughed, "That's... Awkward." I shook my head, "Rory, we need you to help us figure out what Jesse is planning."
"Uh, yeah. He's not a high school kid; he's a cult leader from over two hundred years ago, and if-" Ethan started, but Rory quickly interrupted him, "No way! Wait till I tell him!"
"Rory! No!" Ethan groaned, "He already knows, okay? And it's not cool. Unless we stop him, a lot of people could die, including us."
"Whoa, stinks not being immortal," Rory sighed. "His plan has something to do with a prophecy. Maybe you could check his library?" I suggested. "Yeah, we need details. Fast, okay?" Ethan added, "and find out what the cubile animus thing is for."
"Okay, that was a let down," Rory complained, "It's just some crusty old box, but Jesse's happy, so..."
"Ethan!" Ethan's mom called through the door. I quickly stepped forward, distracting his mom long enough for him to get Rory out.
~Irene's POV~
I groaned as Jesse flipped on the brightest lights in the room. I couldn't even remember what time it was, anymore. The door was yanked open to reveal Jesse. He smirked at me, "Don't lie. Bet you can't wait to sink your fangs into that dweeb. I'm sure his blood drips with the taste of sugar and calories. Nerds are the best."
"What time is it?"
"I'm just getting ready to head off to school. I'll see you when I get back, my Queen. Your time is almost here." With that, he was gone. I sighed, feeling my brain shut down, the effort of being awake too much.
~Benny's POV~
Ethan immediately pulled me down in front of his locker when I got to school before opening his laptop. He pulled out a flashdrive, "It's from Rory. I found it in my mailbox this morning." He plugged it in and tapped a couple buttons on the keyboard before Rory's face popped up. "Hey, guys. Can you believe this? All these books and not a single decent comic. No X-Men. Not even the Hulk."
"Come on. Focus, buddy, focus," Ethan sighed. "Okay, I, uh, I think I found what you're looking for. Check it out: an angel's nest shall seed the Earth, soul for soul the black army's rebirth, 'neath a swallowed moon the dead take route, the barren orchard bears the devil's fruit." Rory smiled, "Whoa. Best metal lyrics ever." He started his own rendition of how the song would go as I looked up at Ethan. "Ugh! I hate poetry! It never makes any sense! What, 'angel's nest,'?"
"Shh," Ethan said quickly, "cubile animus, nest of souls. They found it by the angel statue in the cemetery, remember?" I nodded, "Oh. 'Seed the Earth'?"
