Marissa's disorder started 18 years ago, wow it has been almost 2 decades, the cause being stress and anxiety. I used to be a waiter at a big and luxurious restaurant which is owned by the ruler's son of my village and used to receive very low income and with that money I created what I have today- my very own restaurant. Almost all the money I had was spent constructing my eatery so at the end of the day I was left with only £30 - £40 monthly to run the house but of course it wasn't enough to pay all the expenses at all like electricity, telephone, water bills and all other basic needs; so to help me, Marissa started her own job- she became a tailor. She had a very small business though, our friends and acquaintances used to give her their clothes for stitching and touch ups because she used to charge less compared to other tailors in our town, also and mainly because she sometimes felt guilty charging her friends and they knew about it so they didn't even bother asking her if they needed to pay for it; they were basically, getting their clothes stitched for free, not all of them but most of them and what saddened me the most was that they knew that we were financially struggling yet they refused to help or pay for something they had to, I mean, thats why Marissa started this work in the first place.
People say that we come to know who is truly ours and who isnt in our worst times and I guess we did come to know it. No one really cared about us. I sometimes feel like this life is a game of chess and people are pawns; if u go to the opposite side and make it till the end then you have so much value otherwise people are least bothered about you even if you are dead.
Anyways, Marissa spent all day working and breaking her sweat. I guess it was my fault as well, I was so busy with everything that I didn't have the time to ask my own wife if she was ok or if she needed to stop everything and take rest. I never asked her and so I never knew what she was going through. The twins weren't born then but it was still hard managing Asher, he was only two.
One of the many things we haven't told our daughters is about our son; their elder brother.
