We all were in the arms of Morpheus after a tiring but entertaining day in the dreamy city and it was also the first time in a long time when Marissa had slept throughout the nightor it was also feasible that I didn't notice maybe because I slept through it all. Who knows? All I know is perhaps that peaceful night was only the calm before the storm. A tremendous, pitiless, dreadful and ferocious storm. A storm that took away the most important part of me. The storm which was only one night away. That storm was me intruding into the next door of tragedy.

When I woke up to get ready for work, I witnessed Marissa sitting on a steel chair with Asher on her lap and playing with her thick and long wavy deep sand brown hair which now have been targetted by a few white hair, she continuously was slightly pushing the milk white sheet backwards using her rough and dry palm which was getting stitched with the help of a sewing machine so that the unstitched fabric came under the machine, both of them looked so focused in doing their own thing.

I got all suited and booted in my waiter uniform which consisted of a buttoned up white shirt, black pants and vest and a little black bow to top it all and get the proper "waiter look" of a five star hotel. As usual I took my vespa to my work but today was different, everything about that day felt so good, the wind harshly blowing and ruining my hair felt nice, going to work felt good, listening to people's taunts everytime I messed up their order made me wanna grin, someone giving me even a single penny as a tip felt good. Maybe it was the fun weekend vibes which left me so happy and energetic but I wish that happiness lasted a little longer and my life didn't decide to take such a sharp turn all of a sudden.

I was a little late when I arrived home from work, moreover, Marissa had called me earlier to inform me that Asher and her were going to sleep since they went to bed yesterday really late and had forbidden me from me ringing the doorbell as it would disturb their sleep. I gently unlocked the door with the help of a duplicate key which used to be with me at all times. I slowly twisted the silver metal doorknob, which made me feel like some sort of intruder who was breaking into someone's house and lightly pushed the creaking door, as I walked in, I heard a sound of Marissa getting up from the bed which was coming from the front closed door. The living room was as dark as the colour of my pants which made me wonder what could possibly she need at this hour? I spread my arms vertically like a zombie to avoid bumping in with the furniture or the wall on the way in search of the switch to turn the lights back on.

I placed my keys on a transparent coffee table next to the main door and crept anxiously to the bedroom, hoping that Marissa wasn't sleepwalking again. My hands quivered as I gave the door a little push with the tip of my spatulate fingers, I put my face forward in between the wall and the door and pressed my forehead together in confusion while I endeavoured to comprehend what exactly was it that she was trying to do this time?

No-no-no... I couldn't believe my eyes, I repeatedly rubbed them and pinched myself anticipating that it was all a frightening nightmare and hoping that I'd wake up, but as they say, "You can't ignore the truth." I wanted to...this truth was just too bitterly surreal. That- that wasn't just an ordinary night, it was the night of nothing but calamity.
