Nancy's POV

Camp was... beautiful. That was the only word to describe it. It felt like my home even though I've never been there.

Percy smiled at me. "What do you think?"

"Um..."

"No words to describe it, huh?" He turned towards his home.

"Yeah..." I smiled to myself.

"Come on," Grover walked through the two pillars. It was if the air rippled when he walked into the pillar. Percy went after, the air rippled again. I then walked through thinking it would feel like water but it felt like a cool wave of air that hit my bare face.

The camp looked deserted, no campers were awake, well except for one.

"Will!" Percy called.

"Coming!" A boy came out of a huge house that needed a new coat of red paint. The boy had blond hair and smiled way too much. He turned to me. "I'm Will,"

"I heard," I said with a snark. His face fell. "Sorry," I muttered.

"It's fine, now come along." He said, a smile on his face once again.

"I'm going to bed," Percy said and walked down the rows of cabins to one that was blue and seashells incrusted on roof. Grover had already disappeared somewhere and it was just me and Will.

"I'm tired. Is there an extra bed I could sleep on?" I started to walk towards the cabin.

"Sleep?" Will looked around. "Wait what time is?"

I checked my watch. "5:45,".

"What... I must have fallen asleep..." Suddenly Will remembered something. "Come. In the Big House we have an extra bed." He started towards the house he came out of.

"What are you doing up so early?" I ask, curious.

"I have to stay up. In the infirmary that's a patient that has to be woken up every 3 hours for a check up and..." Will remembered something. "I have to go... second floor, first door to the left. Don't explore. Camp classes start at 7:10." Then he ran off to a small stone building to help his patient he must have forgotten about.

I walked into the Big House. A lamp was on, showing me the way to the stairs. When I got to the next floor I found a hallway. I opened the first door to left. In the room was a small bed with thin and dusty sheets and a night stand with two drawers. I opened a drawer, inside was a silver arrow someone must have left from their previous stay. I climbed onto the bed and lied down. It was too hot for the sheets anyway. I tried to close my eyes and forget it all, hoping it would all go away and I would later find myself in the bedroom I share with Phoebe (my little sister), but sleep didn't come. I stayed up till my clock hit 7:10. I got up hoping there would be breakfast. They did bring me to this strange camp with no time to grab my stuff, so they better have breakfast. I walked out of my room, ran down stairs, and found a boy standing in front of me at the Big House's front door.

He had brown hair and smirk plastered on his face. "I'm Conor. I'm here to take you to the Dining Hall."

We walked in silence till I asked, "Where do I sit?"

He turned to me and said, "Anywhere. We used to have assigned tables per godly parent but then we got too many new campers so we got rid of the system. Now get your food and then go to the fire and put a portion of your food in it."

"Why? That's wasting."

"It goes to the gods. It's our way of saying 'we can eat yummy food, haha'."

"Really?" I asked doubting that was what it actually meant but I was too hungry to care.

I got in line and followed everyone when they put a pancake and some orange juice in the fire. How does orange juice burn? I have no idea. I then saw Percy sitting at a table with a blonde girl and a girl with red curly hair.

"Come over here, Nancy!" Percy tapped on an empty seat next to him.

I sat down next to him. "Who are you guys?" I turned to the two girls.

"Annabeth," the blonde girl smiled at me and leaned her hand out so I could shake it. I did.

"I'm Rachel. Nice to meet you." She also shook my hand. Her hair was so dark red it was crazy to even look at it. It must be dyed.

"These are my friends," he pointed to each girl in turn and then pointed to his food. Annabeth laughed and then slapped his arm playfully. Then we all started to eat.

Between mouthfuls Percy explained about Greek gods and how they sometimes had affairs with mortals and how Demigods were the result. He also explained how the camp was sorted out and what cabin belonged to which godly parent. "The cabin with the peacock on the front is Hera's. Cause she's the god of marriage she takes her marriage seriously and never cheats. Not even with mortals so that cabin's honorary. So is Artemis'. Well..." he turned to Annabeth.

"Sometimes the Hunters of Artemis stay there or in the Big House." Annabeth took off where Percy left off.

"Oh," I interrupted. "That's why there was an arrow in my night stand drawer."

"Yup." Annabeth nodded. "When you get claimed by your godly parent you won't have to stay in the Big House anymore. You'll stay with your brothers and sisters."

"Cool," I said. "So who's my godly parent?"

"You'll get claimed later. Maybe even soon." Annabeth smiled politely at me. "So how do you know Percy?"

"He brought me to camp and saved me from
a Cyclops." I smiled (fake) sweetly at her. I knew what she was doing. She must have a crush on Percy and thought of me as a threat. Whatever...

"Ok..." Percy said awkwardly. "I have to get to the arena. Annabeth will you help me set up for my first class?" Annabeth smiled and they cleared their plates and went to the arena.

Rachel smiled at me. "Feeling left out, huh? Yeah, they do that to everyone. They have been best friends since they were 12 years old and have a lot of history, fighting wars and stuff."

"Wars?" I asked.

"Yeah... the Titan War and the war with Gaea. I don't know the official name for that one but you'll learn it in Camp and Demigod History." Rachel cleared her plate. "I think you'll go to that next. Annabeth's teaching that, so you'll have one friend at least."

"What are you doing while I go to my history classes?" I asked, wondering why I had to do classes as if I was still in school.

"Oh, I'm not a Demigod. I'm an Oracle. I tell the future and stuff."

"Cool! Can you tell me what I'll eat tonight?"

"Um... no. I randomly sprout prophecies and other stuff, I don't control my power. Sorry."

"No it's fine. Where's my history class at anyway?" Rachel walked me to the Big House. It was time for my first class of the day.
