•Selena's POV•

After church, I went over to Y/n's house. Tyler was busy with his family, so he couldn't come hang out with us. I was secretly relieved because being around him was a little bit awkward. My crush on him was small, it wasn't like I was in love with him, but I still felt awkward about liking my cousin's boyfriend. Hopefully I would get over this stupid crush soon.

Y/n also invited Taylor over, who had become a good friend of mine too ever since she moved here. We were all sitting on the hardwood floor in Y/n's room, just on our phones. I remembered that Y/n wanted to tell me something, so I decided to bring it up.

"Hey... you wanted to talk to me about something?" I spoke, looking up from my phone screen. Y/n looked towards me, her eyes meeting mine. She then smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, I was going to say that Tyler and I want you to meet this boy," she said, and I rose an eyebrow in confusion. Me... meeting some boy... why? "He goes to our church. You might know him. Tyler does."

"What's his name?" I asked. If he went to our church and was around my age, I probably have heard of him or at least have seen him around.

"Matthew," Y/n said. Yeah, I did know him. He was in our choir class for a little bit. He was cute, a sweet kid, but why would he have any interest in talking to me?

"Why are you making me do this?" I asked, even though I already knew the answer. I needed to get over Tyler. I told her it was just a small crush, nothing to worry about. I wondered if she believed me.

"Well, you forced me and Tyler together, so now I'm forcing you and Matthew together!" She smiled sweetly, causing me to roll my eyes. Maybe I should have been a bit more subtle with her and Tyler. However, unlike Y/n, I wasn't going to be stubborn. I would just have to go through with this whole thing. Hopefully it would pay off.

"Fine." I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "You and Tyler can set everything up. Just tell me when," I told her.

"I'm sure it won't be that bad," Taylor said comfortingly. "How's Dallas?" I rolled my eyes. I knew that no matter how much she tried to deny it, she liked my brother in one way or another. I wasn't sure why, being that she barely knew him. But I couldn't get mad at her for it.

"Why don't you ask him? He's coming over later for dinner," I suggested, smirking a bit. I would love to see her try to talk to him. He was nice, but could definitely be extremely stubborn.

"Oh, okay," she said, taking a deep breath. "I guess I'll try." I laughed a bit to myself, shrugging it off. I would be sure to watch and see how that played out.

So that's exactly what I did.

When Dallas and my parents came over around dinner time, I saw Taylor wave to my brother with a small smile. Dal looked confused on why she was being so nice to him, and even more confused when she tried talking to him. I pulled Y/n aside, gesturing to Taylor and Dal side by side. She peaked over the wall with me to watch.

I could only faintly hear them speaking, but I still managed to make out what they were saying. Taylor was twirling a piece of her blonde hair around her finger as she tried to ask him how he was, but she quickly interrupted herself.

"Sorry... this is probably weird right? You don't even know my name. I'm Taylor," she introduced herself, putting her hand out for him to shake. He took her hand, shaking it firmly.

"Dallas," he responded, placing his hand back in the pocket of his leather jacket.

"I know," she replied, but her eyes widened. "I mean, I only know because of your sister!" Her cheeks turned pink. I couldn't help but laugh at the fact she was embarrassing herself. Dal must have heard me, because he turned around, raising and eyebrow.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Spying?" I answered. I looked beside me to see if Y/n was still there. She was, and I could tell that she found this whole thing kind of amusing too.

"What's so funny?" He asked. Taylor stood behind him with her hand covering her face. It only made me giggle more.

"Nothing!" I said quickly, trying to walk away as if nothing happened.

"You shouldn't make fun of your friends. Not cool," he said, but I shook my head in annoyance. Like he was the one to talk.

"If you say so," I said, brushing it off, sitting on the couch with Y/n at my side. Until dinner, we just decided to watch TV. Taylor eventually came and sat by us too.

_______________________________

Luckily I didn't have any class this Friday. I woke up rather early due to knocking at my door. I lazily walked downstairs, opening the front door. My eyes widened when I saw Tyler and Y/n there. What were they doing here so early? And my hair was messy, and I was still in my pajamas, he was going to think I looked like a complete mess.

"What are you guys doing here so early?" I asked, my voice full of confusion.

"Today you're gonna meet up with Matthew!" Y/n exclaimed.

"Seriously? Couldn't you have told me earlier?" I asked.

"He just told us yesterday," Tyler responded. I stepped aside to let them in.

"Anyway, get ready," Y/n said, motioning with her hands for me to go upstairs.

•••••

Tyler was driving while Y/n sat in the passengers seat. I was third wheeling in the back.

I was thinking about how this whole thing would go. I wasn't really looking forward to it. It's not that I disliked Matthew or anything, it's just the fact that I didn't know if he was like Tyler in anyway. I didn't just like Tyler because I thought he was cute, but I liked his personality. Who he was as a person. If I was going to date someone, I wanted their personality to be similar to his. In their own way, of course.

Lucky for me, Tyler and Y/n were going to sit with us. So it wouldn't be completely awkward.

When we arrived and we walked inside, the smell of coffee immediately hit me. I liked how  small and comfortable it was in here.

My eyes scanned the shop, looking for the tall
boy who I didn't really know that much about. I spotted him sitting at a table for four, so I walked over, Y/n and Tyler following behind me.

"Hey," I said, getting his attention. He looked up from his phone, his eyes meeting mine. His eyes were hazel, a perfect mix of brown and green. His hair was jet black, and his smile was extremely charming. He could be a prince.

"Hello," he replied, scooting over to the chair next to him so I could sit down. I mumbled a small 'thanks' as I sat down beside him. Tyler and Y/n sat across from both of us. They all greeted each other, as I sat there quietly.

After talking to him for a bit, I had to admit that I was happy I came. I liked him.

A/n: ok so i focused on selena this chapter so hopefully it wasn't that bad??
