Chapter 33 - A Day of Waiting

I try to stand up, but I fall back down to my knee, and I clench my chest. Damn... I guess that poison is still in me. I try to stand again, but I fall back down. I... need to get out of here. If I don't this poison will render me completely useless, and I'll probably die of starvation. Kurama can I borrow a small bit of chakra? I just need enough to teleport back to the Leaf.

Fine, I don't feel like letting you die yet. You can have a small fraction.

Thanks fox, I love you too. I teleport to a random kunai I left in the village. I look around, and see a couple of familiar faces. At least I'm back here. I collapse and pass out.

I open my eyes, and see an elderly lady laying next to me. I raise up, and look at her face. Lady Tsunade?! I check her pulse. She's alive she just seems to be in a comma. I wonder what happened to her? I stand up, and put my shirt and jacket back on. I walk out of the tent I was in, and see people working on rebuilding the village. "You're awake!" I hear something metal hit the ground, and I look over to see Ino staring at me, with a tear in her eye. "I thought you weren't ever going to wake up." Ino runs over, and hugs me. "I'm so glad you're alive." Ino tightens the hug, as I hug her back.

"Ino, I have a question where is Choji?"

"What why?"

"He and I have some unfinished business."

"I think he and Shikamaru are over by the training fields."

"Okay, thank you." I pick up the metal pan Ino drops. "Go tend to Lady Tsunade. She seems like she needs all the help she can get." I use a basic water jutsu, and fill the pan back up, and hand it to Ino.

"(Y/n), please don't run away again."

"Don't worry Ino, I'm here to stay this time." I wave as I teleport to a kunai, at the training fields.

"(Y/n)! What are you doing here?" I ask Naruto ask surprised.

"Choji!" I shout gaining his attention. "I believe you and I have some unfinished business."

"(Y/n), what are you doing stop now." Shikamaru ordered.

"Stay out of this Nara, this is between Fatso, and myself." I glare at Choji.

"Did you just call me fatso?"

"(Y/n), stop. Are you trying to encourage a fight?" Tenten asked.

"Did you just call me a fatso?!" Choji shouts.

"I wasn't talking to Shikamaru, Naruto, or Tenten. So I guess that only leaves you doesn't it?" I look at Choji again. "Now bring it on fatso. I have other things I what to do today."

"That does it! Human Expansion Jutsu!" Choji grows until he's the size of a giant tree. "I'm going to make you regret calling me a fatso." Choji throws a punch at me.

"Good." I activate my Sharingan. "Lightning Blade." I run at Choji, and slam my hand into his fist. A small explosion occurs, and I jump back un harmed.

"You won't stop my next attack." Choji lets out a roar.

"I'm sorry."

"W... what?" Choji grows a confused look.

"I'm sorry, Choji. I'm sorry for running away. I'm sorry for almost killing you, and I'm sorry for breaking my promise to Ino. I'm also sorry for calling you a fatso. I knew that was the only way I could get you to try to attack me. You are to kind of a person to attack me with no reason, So I gave you one. I just wanted to get a little pay back for the other day. Can you forgive me? All four of you."

"You helped me beat Pain, you're all good in my book." Naruto grows a grin, and gives me a thumbs up.

"Thank you, Naruto."

"You apologized, plus I'm sure you had your reasons for doing what you did. And I'm pretty sure if you really wanted us dead, we wouldn't be having this conversation."

"Thank you, Shikamaru." I look at Choji, who has returned to his normal size. "Choji?"

"..... If tou promise to stay our friend, and not leave like that again. I'll forgive you, (y/n)."

I smile. "I promise Choji. I'm not leaving like that again."

Tenten walks over to me. "As for me." Tenten kisses me on my check. "You came back alive, like you promised, so I forgive you."

"(Y/n) Namikaze, Lord Danzo has requested your presence." A ninja wearing the root uniform says, as he appears in a puff of smoke. What does Danzo want with me? I teleport to wear Danzo is.

"(Y/n), thank you for coming." Danzo turns around. "I have been named interim Hokage, in place of Lady Tsunade, and I have also been requested to join a five Kage summit."

"Okay good for you, but what does this have to do with me?"

"I would like for you to accompany me as one of my guards."

"Aren't you usually only allowed two guards at summit meetings like this?"

"Yes, but either Torune or Fū, one will wait outside."

"Fine I'll go but might I ask why you want me to go?"

"I want to show, even though the Leaf was destroyed, we still have plenty of powerful ninja."

"So you want to use me as an intimidation tactic."

"That's one way to put it."
