Mum

Fine. How are you? How's Paul? Are you guys still together?

Cece

Yes mum, we're still together. Actually we got married.

Mum

Really? Interesting. I guess you didn't want me there?

Cece

I didn't know if you wanted to come. We didn't have the best conversation last time we saw each other.

Mum

Just because we argue doesn't mean I'm not your mother. Cecilia, I know you don't believe this, but I do love you. And I don't blame you for not inviting me. But I want to be in your life next time something big like that happens.

Cece

That's ironic. Because I have something kind of big to tell you.

Mum

Cece

I'm pregnant.

Mum

Oh. Wow. I didn't expect that.

Cece

Me either to be honest.

Mum

Are you happy, honey?

Cece

I've never been happier.

Then I'm happy for you. And Paul. God, I can't believe you're all grown up and about to have your own family.

Why don't you come and visit sometime, before the baby's born? I miss you mum.
