Guys, the unthinkable has happened. Reports have surfaced that Nina Dobrev is leaving 'The Vampire Diaries' after the sixth season!
Fans of the show will be well aware of the fact that Dobrev plays two characters in the show, Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce. However as these characters are the main protagonist and the main antagonist of the show, it is weird to imagine the show without them.
If these reports are true and Dobrev is leaving these characters behind, what does this mean for the show? What is TVD without Damon and Stefan fighting over Elena? And what does this mean for the rest of the cast? Are they all out of jobs now?
It seems premature to assume that Dobrev would choose to potentially ruin the careers of her co-stars, but the fact can't be ignored that without Elena Gilbert, the show would never have begun in the first place. The pressure that this puts on Dobrev is unimaginable. However if she had the backs of her cast and crew, these rumours might not have come into fruition. Therefore, we can assume that Dobrev has made a particularly selfish decision by choosing to leave this show.
Of course, these could all be rumours and speculation, but there's no smoke without fire. Would Nina really leave her TVD family in the lurch?
