There was an air of excitement in the room as everyone looked for their seats and took them. Some discussed how beautiful the wedding was, some talked about the couple themselves, and others wondered how long they'd have to wait until food was served.
Either way, the room was filled with that special kind of love that felt like magic, like something amazing was beginning, and everyone just wanted to be a part of it. To capture a tiny amount of that magic for themselves.
"Hey everyone," Candice said, grabbing a mic as people sat at their assigned tables and the excited chatter died down. "Thanks for coming to the reception. It was a beautiful wedding, wasn't it?!" the crowd cheered and Candice smiled to herself.
"It is my immense pleasure to welcome to the dancefloor, Mr and Mrs Wasilewski!"
There was a huge cheer as Paul and Cece walked into the room, hand in hand with huge grins on their faces. The positioned themselves in the middle of the dance floor as the music started, and Lea Michele began to sing a cover of Jason Mraz's 'I Won't Give Up'.
They moved in time to the music, swaying and occasionally spinning.
"I hate dancing," Paul whispered to his wife. Cece giggled.
"Just smile like you're having the time of your life," she said.
"I am having the time of my life," he said, looking her in the eyes. "I can't believe that I get to call you my wife."
"Me either," she said as he spun her around. "Forever," she added.
When the song was finished, they kissed and the crowd cheered once again.
Paul led Cece to the first table, where they sat with Paul's parents, Becky, best man Ian and maid of honour Claire. Then Cece stood up.
"Hi everyone. Usually during a wedding the bride doesn't really get to say anything, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to get a word in now. I just wanted to thank all of you for coming and for celebrating this special day with me and Paul. And I really appreciate the fact that half of you are going to spend your whole lives learning how to pronounce my new last name." The crowd chuckled.
"But yeah, I love every single one of you, so sit back and relax because food should be served momentarily!" This got an even bigger cheer from the crowd.
No one can resist a free meal.
