Chapter 5: Neko Boy

    I was walking home after school by myself because the cafe was closed for maintenance and Ichigo had to stay after for something. I was just about to make it home when I accidentally bumped into something, more like someone. I opened my eyes to see a young boy on the ground rubbing his head. I noticed that he had cat ears and a tail.
     "I'm so sorry! Are you okay" I asked and reached down to help him up. He flinched and I pulled my hand away.
"It's okay, I'm just trying to help you up is all. My name is Starlight, but you can call me Star" I reassured him and placed my hand out again. After a few seconds, he grabbed my hand and I pulled him up from the ground.
        "Hi...." He whispered shyly and let go of my hand.
        "What are you doing out here by yourself? Where's your parents?" I asked very curious as to why he had neko ears and a tail.
    "I..um.. don't have parents" He looked down at the ground.
        "Oh....Can I know your name?" I smiled at him.
        "My name is Alex" He looked up and half smiled.
        "Nice to meet you Alex" I smiled again.
        "Well, It was nice talking you" He said and started walking away.
        "Wait! Where are you going?" I remarked.
        "The park, why?" He explained.
        "Where do you live?" I remarked.
        "The streets" He sighed and I walked over to him.
        "You can live with me" I smiled at him. He looked up and gave me those thank-you-so-much eyes.
        "Can I really? Thank you!" He glomped me and I laughed at his sudden outburst. This kid has an interesting personality. I began to walk home again, but this time with Alex following right behind me.
        "Mom! I'm home and I have a special guest with me!" I announced once we had entered my house. My mother walked over and noticed Alex behind me.
    "Yes dear? Who is this handsome young fellow" She exclaimed as she bent down to his level. Alex shrunk a bit further behind me, but I pushed him out a bit.
    "This is Alex. He doesn't have a home so I was wondering if it was okay for him to live here? Pleeeeease Mom!" I explained to her with a pout.
"Well, it won't be a problem! Of course he can stay here. Go and show him the guest room, or as I should say, his room," She insisted "I'll be in the kitchen if you guys need me."
    "Yay!" I shouted and pulled Alex into the guest room.
    "Woah," He exclaimed as he looked at his surroundings. Suddenly he turned around and gave me a big hug "Thank you so much!"
        "You're welcome" I smiled and hugged back.
