Ch. 4: The Group of Friends

Hazel drove me to the beach (yes, she has a liscence and I don't, I get it). By the time we got there, everyone had already arrived and were laying lunch out on a blanket (we brought some popsicles for afterwards).

As we hopped out of Hazel's vehicle, I looked at the group of friends. Piper was holding hands with a blonde boy who wore glasses. A boy with brown curly locks was taking a picture of them, and I could hear sassy jokes. Laying in the sun was a boy with a deep tan and blonder hair than Piper's boyfriend. For some reason, I was interested in meeting him, and I started wondering what he would be like.

I put on sunscreen and took my shirt off, leaving myself in swimshorts. Hazel took off her sweater, revealing her yellow bikini, and also put on sunscreen. We grabbed our basket of popsicles and made our way down.

"Guys!" Piper waved.

"Hey!" Hazel put her hands up and ran over.

I, on the other hand, took my time getting down. I felt... strange, like something was about to happen. Something big.

We made it to the group and we all sat down. They introduced themselves to me, and I introduced myself. First when Piper's boyfriend, Jason. Then, the curly-haired boy, Leo. When we made it to the super tanned guy, I was... excited, for whatever reason.

"Hi!" he starts off cheerfully. "I'm Will."

I shake hands with him when he puts his arm out, feeling fluttery. I noticed he had three hearts, and one was red.

I looked at my own hand, and...

"Nico-"

"I know..."
